    • Fully assembled, just have to plug in the solar panel.
Product is easy to install as long as you don't have an existing hole that is to big. My only complaint is the plate that you screw on to hold the solar panel/electronics off the ground broke when i was trying to screw it to my coop. Wasn't the end of the world i got it set up on my run. It takes some trial and error to get the door fully functional. Takes a little to reaet if a chicken doesn't go in before the door closes. Other than that it works like a charm. Update 05/26/2023 Door just stopped opening and the control box only lights up and nothing else goes. Door is stuck open and won't open or close either using buttons or using light sensor. Not worth the cost for 6 months of use. Update 6/6/23 Contacted seller. They understand and agreed that the issue was a manufacturer error and sent a new solar panel/control device for the door. Door is now fully functional again. Would definitely recommend since customer service is willing to help any way they can! 06/27/23 The replacement controller had a manufacturer defect that made it where the battery wasn't getting charged. I have reached out to customer support through Amazon and they are making it right. They did request me to try a few things to make sure it was a defect, but have been very kind and understanding! Final update. Unit wasn't charging so reached out again and this time a whole new door/solar panel was sent. Took my old one off installed the new one. Door still did open. When I reached out they just said "oh that's odd, when the new panel doesn't work the whole new door does". when I said well it didn't. They said "Do what you want with the doors, we will let our manufacturer know that you got a non working door " I disassembled the new door and a screw was missing, when I brought it up and sent a photo I was told "we will let the manufacturer know do what you want with the doors." Truthfully if I can't disassemble the doors/panels and make 1 functional door then I will have to buy one from someone else. When I told them that I was told "we are talking to the manufacturer and when a new version comes out we hope you will be willing to buy a new one from us." I'm not looking at buying a new door in 6 months or years! It's a part of security for my chickens and i will be taking care of this sooner rather than later. Unless they fix the issues I wouldn't buy since it crapped out after about 6 months. ... show more

    • Unexpected Performance
When closing, the coop door shuts fully, reopens 1/4 of the way, and then fully closes again. Nothing is obstructing the door. This happens everytime the door is closed. We do not know if this is the standard performance. We were expecting it to close fully and stay closed fully (without any obstruction). ... show more

    • Does the job okay....
Out of the box, it worked fine, after installation, it tends to get stuck often or won't work on a single or couple of pushes of the buttons. Cleared the grooves and loosen the screws to see if that was the issue. Still acted the same. Used the solar and a portable battery bank. And you have to be close using the remote to the wireless becan to have it work properly, like 2-3' away. The settings of the options are legible, but I feel like they're to crammed into the unit/software. If you're really on a budget, it's a fine product. I'd probably just take this door off and go back to a sliding door, or best to get a higher end if spending this much money already. ... show more

Update: The Mollan CS team reached out and are currently in the process of correcting the issue with the unit. I will update further once I receive the fix. Don't bother with this unit. It worked great for a couple days, then nothing. We had to fiddle with it for 5-10 minutes to get it to open. It would not respond to buttons or the remote. ... show more

    • Doesn’t work
Now the door opens and closes…but to set it up with timer mode vs light mode doesn’t work. I feel like o have to reset it every couple of days because it switches from timer to light.

This door is awesome except for when it’s cold out! It normally will go up and down on its own in the morning and evening but when it’s cold out it doesn’t open in the morning and the buttons don’t work to make it go up manually either

Was great until about a week ago. It’s getting enough charge from the sun but won’t open or close when it’s supposed to. It will perform when the button on the unit or remote is pushed, but no longer automatic.

FINAL UPDATE: Customer service did exactly as they stated. I have been using the new solar controller for almost 2 months and not a single problem. The door works perfect for my chickens!! Would definitely recommend if you have chickens and want them to have an automatic door. UPDATE: The customer service reached out to me and have been wonderful. They are sending me another solar controller. As soon as I receive it and verify that it works I will update this review again. The door itself works great when it works so I am really hopeful that a new solar controller will do the trick! The weather was bad when I received it so it took a few weeks to install it. It worked for 1 day and then didn't work. Took the solar panel down and recharged it with electric. Put it up. Worked for 3 days. Took it down, recharged it. Worked for a week. Took it down and recharged it again. Worked for 4 days. Now it is dead again. We have 300+ days of sun here so it has nothing to do with not being sunny enough. This is ridiculous. I didn't buy a solar opener so that I had to use electric every week. And it is 13 days past when I can return it so I am basically out the money! ... show more
