  • Quick set up and works perfect
Live in a rural area and needed to use cell service for a wifi across two buildings. Tried a Hotspot and it just didn't cut it. Picking up signal was spotty and the wifi wasn't strong enough. Ordered the mofi to see if it would fix the problem. Set up was simple. I took the card out of my Verizon hot spot and put it in the mofi. Turned it on and it worked without even running setup. Did go through set up to set security. I added a yagi antenna mounted to the top of one of the buildings and took the time to point it and confirm the cell signal. I went from one bar with the hot spot to 4 bars with the mofi and the yagi antenna. Wifi is strong and services both building perfect. If you order this and the yagi antenna that comes up as a suggested product there are no issues with attaching the external antenna or setting this up. Its been running for about 2 weeks now with no issues at all with constant great cell connection and constant wifi. I did go directly through Verizon for the service and the card. There is a 30 gb limit before they throttle. But thats no different than Hughes net and the speeds are a LOT faster. ... show more

  • VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER
This review is two years over due. We live in an RV full time and there are very few choices on how to get internet and work on the road. It was a little hard to get the router to work in the begging but with help of a neighbor we got all fixed up. Yesterday the router stopped working with the Internet, I lost the signal and went online to the their website and sent an email to MOFI... with in 20 minutes I had a reply and a phone number to tech support. My router is up in running this morning. Had to do a hard reboot. I was so worried that I may have to buy a new MOFI router or go to Star Link and pay $599.00 and then $135.00 a month. This ROUTER is the best even works under trees. Now if there is no cell tower around like in Prospect OR.... This router does not work. We also use the directional antenna to boost the signal strength. We have been all over the USA... and this router works in motion as well as we are traveling down the road of life. These people that write bad reviews are either not calling the help desk or not put in the data that makes the router work. They have a help desk. ... show more

  • Good cheap 4G/LTE Cellular Modem but Tech Support Sucks!
I’ve been using these modems for many years. They are a great 4G/LTE cellular modem that will work on just about any cellular network. The only problem I’ve noticed over the years is if you want to cut down on buffering of videos, you’ll have to use a third party WiFi access point to have the best experience with this product. I’ve had issues with buffering while customers watch Netflix, etc with the default WiFi antennas. After installing an access point like the Ubiquiti access points, this seem to fix the buffering issues. The one BIG problem I have with this vendor is if you have a performance issue, and contact them, they will respond to you but will make it sound like it’s user error and cut you off on the communication if it appears that they may have to exchange it for replacement. For this, I have given them 1 star and I have the emails still to back up this claim from the vendor. Very disappointed in the way they handled my issue and as a result, I have started purchasing PepWave modems from Amazon. ... show more

  • great item
I noticed my particle smoke detector picked up smoke I unplugged my mofi and havent used it since and my sensors have not reached the same levels. Could've been coincidence but maybe not. Great item overall between reading about malware on routers the lack of firmware updates and my smoke particle detector triggering ive mostly retired my mofi but it was good when I needed that signal boost and a unlocked sim holder. That was my experince! ... show more

  • I have a lab in a remote area with no landline internet service, this fixed it.
I have a lab that needs internet access in an area with no internet service, but does have cell service. First I rigged up a Wifi extender that had an ethernet port. Connected that to a firewall, with my lab behind the firewall. But I was usinbg data and ended up with 6 phones subscribing to 30GB a month of hot spot data each over 4G. When the network would slow to a crawl it meant I had run out of data on that phone and switched to a new hotspot phone. I was using between 150 to 180GB of data a month. With this device I took the SIM card from one of the phones and placed it into this MIFi. The data with this device is not seen as hot spot data but instead is seen as cell phone data. There is a warning that you may see speed drop offs after 75GB of data but that has never happened to me. The drop offs are based on congestion and, out in the middle of nowhere, my cell service is never congested. It has good size antennas so the reception is much better than when I was using cell phones and therefore the connection speed is much better. ... show more

  • Please read before buying.
What a horrible experience. First off it took nearly 3 weeks to arrive, I was told only 7-9 days. When it arrived I was never told that I would have to sign for it. My wife and I both work so I had to call ups to hold it and pay and additional $10 for that. When it finally arrived but the instructions where so bad I had to YouTube a step by step video to set it up but finally I got it working. The device was so crappy that I couldn't even play a YouTube video with out it buffering every 2 seconds and I live in a 5 bars LTE area, I have no issue streaming from my phones or tablets using my cell service. I was using a visible Sim card (they use verizon towers) so no issues there. So I requested a refund it took them 5 days to approve the refund. Then I had to pay shipping.. again... and it took another 2 weeks for them to get the item and "release" my funds it's been 3 days since they've released my funds and I still don't see it pending in my bank. In the end I paid $380 and only getting $340 returned. I have wasted over a month dealing with this and I'm currently still waiting for my funds to return. Worst company I've dealt with on Amazon...garbage device, garbage company.... 0/10 I DO NOT RECOMMEND.. ... show more
