    • Attractive sconce but cheaply made and difficult to install

We purchased the wall sconce as a replacement for a stairway light. It is an attractive piece and, once installed, it lights the stairway up well so, functionally, it is a good light. Before I add my "however", however, let me say that I am not a professional installer, I am a capable "diy"er with a good number of lighting installs in my experience so my thoughts are not those of someone frustrated by a lack of skill or knowledge. So... This is a cheaply made Chinese piece of junk. I have never seen wires of such a small gauge on a lighting fixture before. And the plug in connector that is used broke even though I treated it very carefully. This, of course, necessitated creating my own connector which was made very difficult due to the extremely light gauge wires. In addition, the live and neutral wires are blue and brown, respectively, instead of black and white and the ground wire was yellow with a green stripe. If you are going to sell this product to an American market, use American standards. Finally, the only helpful thing in the instructions was noting that blue wire was live and brown was neutral. Otherwise they were useless. Be all that as it may, I got it in and I like the look and function. If I had bought the item in a local store, I would have returned it as soon as I saw the wires and certainly when the connector broke. Since returning an internet purchased item is less convenient, I went ahead with the install. I believe there would be many home owners that would find this a MUCH more difficult install than another light fixture. I would NOT recommend purchasing this light. ... show more

I am working on a fixer-upper, and changing the fixtures is an early step. I pried the old fixture that had a chain on it you had to pull(!) and replaced it with this. The light on mine was very white, which I like in a hallway. The backing is metal and front feels like real acrylic. No cheap plastic that I can see. I have no complaints with this light, and like a lot about it. The only negative is that the light takes a full second to come on after you flip the switch. Not a huge deal.     • Great Cool Factor - Love it

This is a very unique light with definite cool factor; that's why I bought it. I actually bought it to go inside a closet in a new guest room/office my husband is building for me. It was no more expensive than those typical, ugly "boob lights" that go on ceilings and I liked this much better. Also, he is putting the light high on the wall instead of the ceiling because in this case it was just easier. He installed it horizontally instead of vertically. Since there are 10 ft ceilings, it won't matter that it's on the wall instead of the ceiling. I wish it was a little brighter but I didn't really expect it to be since it is, after all, really a wall sconce and not a closet light. Sconces are not intended to be especially bright. Still, it it is brighter than most sconces and does the job. Every time I walk into that closet I'm going to smile and enjoy that light. I kind of wish I had places for wall sconces in our house because I would definitely buy these to replace them. These are a great value for the money. I actually bought a "used, like new" light rather than the brand new since it was going in a closet but it looks brand new and it could have gone anywhere in the house. I highly recommend this light as a wall sconce and I also recommend thinking outside the box and trying it somewhere unique. I may add a photo when the room and closet are finished. ... show more

I like modern and think it is a great value for the money. It is very bright if you look directly at it but disperces a nice soft light everywhere else. Would like to see modified to make it better. No deal breakers. 1: Dimmable LED 2: All wires to be a larger gage for mounting or include the connection terminal block shown in the instructions. 3: Included Wire Nuts are useless because they wont fit your wires in your wall. In general you can reuse the existing nuts that are already in the wall box. 4: Nice mounting bracket with slots and holes but none work with a standard electrical box you will need the drywall screws included. 5: Double sided foam sticky tape to hold the LED Driver in place during mounting. 6: Longer screws that hold the fixture to the bracket. My stubby fingers had a hard time holding the screw, screwdriver and aligning the holes all at once. You are very close to the wall and behind the fixture. Very tight. ... show more

I bought this wall sconce to replace an outdated, broken light in my upstairs bedroom hallway. It was fairly simple to install and looks great. The previous sconce (not this brand) stuck out from the wall, which was part of the reason it was easily broken. This light does not stick out very far and uses an LED bulb for a warm glow. We installed the light and then took it down to paint behind it. Now the light doesn’t work. It is supposed to have a one year guarantee. I emailed the seller twice to get it replaced and have not received any response. I also wish I had noticed that it is a cool light because it doesn’t match our other lights which are warm LEDs. ... show more
