    • Fits the bill, but took a bit of work
I bought this mini PC as a stand-in for one of those single board computer's like Raspberry Pi's and the like. I was always interested in something small and cheap that I could tinker with and use to do some function. With the chip shortage and subsequent price increases on the Pi's, while also at the same time reading more about the effort that's actually involved with getting one of those set up and working (plus all the accessories you need to buy if you actually want to use it as a finished product), I decided it would end up being a too much hobby for me. I'm very experienced with PC hardware though, so a mini PC like this fit the bill nicely. I bought the lowest-spec model, 32GB flash and 2GB RAM, in the spirit of keeping it a small, single-function device. It came with Windows 10, which was of course a dog, but also not quite as bad as I thought it would be once Windows Update settled down. I'm sure the 64/4GB spec is perfectly serviceable with Windows set up as a kiosk or simple desktop appliance. It was a little difficult to get accustomed to it, mainly because I didn't have all the right accessories (extra keyboard, mouse, and monitor) but I worked through it all and got Ubuntu server loaded. One thing that took me a while to figure out is the device won't power on if a monitor isn't plugged in. Since I wanted to run this as a server, that presented a problem, but I bought a dummy HDMI plug, so it powers on fine each time now. With the dummy plug in place, I can now keep this powered on and tucked away somewhere and access it from anywhere on my network. The hardware is old enough that any modern Linux distro works perfectly (apparently all the kinks with this SOC were worked out ~2017ish, because I found a lot of old posts with some weird issues that I just didn't see). It runs Ubuntu like a champ. I loaded up Webmin to give me some sort of graphical interface to hit, and I've been slowly hacking away at setting it up to do various things. The device is completely silent, very lower power, yet also fully x86 compatible so I can load up any normal linux distro or software without having to hunt down a special package or compile things myself. I saw on a tear-down video on Youtube that there is also an internal USB port and extra space, intended to plug in either a USB stick for extra storage, or a wireless dongle for an accessory (keyboard/mouse, or a newer wireless adapter). Haven't cracked it open yet as I haven't had a need for that yet, just thought I'd share. I'm happy overall, and this provided me with just the right amount of 'hobby' while also still being largely compatible with my past knowledge so I'm not starting out completely green. ... show more

Mini PC Fan less Intel Celeron N4000 (up to 2.6GHz) 4GB DDR/64GB eMMC Mini Desktop Computer I bought this mini computer for a couple reasons, I wanted a computer that did not need a fan (which wear out over time) and I wanted to smarten up my DUMB led TV. - Out of the box, it is PHYSICALLY SMALL., I would guess about 6" x 6" x 1". It is light so if you need to handle it or change plugs often, you will want to mount it in some manner as it is very light. - It does include the power supply and hanger bracket for behind the tv. - It comes with 4gb RAM - It comes with a small SSD drive. If you know anything about SSD drives, they have a limited life as everytime you write to them, they lose ability to write to the memory. Over time this "resistance" to be written to builds up and the drive will stop functioning. This is common with all memory drives. To prolong the drives life, especially if you plan to write to it a great deal, is to get the largest SSD you can afford so it has more memory to share the "write wear" over. It appears that an HDD or a conventional hard drive is not an option so be aware of how you plan to use this. - I have a computer with the Atom processor, and I admit they are a work horse. I actually ran my netbook with the Atom processor, as a regular computer and it was able to do everything I wanted it to do. Clearly the Atom is not intended for that kind of work out but it was successful with little problems. The Atom is a good processor for what it is intended for. - This unit has the Celeron, another processor I am aware of as I had it in my All in One desk top. Again, a good processor, works hard as long as it has a good operating system in it, mine had the Win 98 which cause some concerns from time to time. - If you are used to the INTEL BIOs, the Mini PC Bios is different. It works about the same, most may not even notice the difference. But the instructions, which I would say is a hair above minimal information, do not tell you how to get into the BIOS. During boot up you hold down the ESC key to get into the BIOS screen. - This machine comes with the Win10 Op Sys ready to be installed. If you like Win10, this should be no problem. I wanted to run Linux from the thumb drive which brings on some interesting start ups. - First, Even with the BIOs changed so it looks at the Thumb drive FIRST, it always attempts to start up the Win10 install on the main drive. IF THERE IS AN ALTERNATE KEY to direct the start up to the Thumb drive, the instructions do not tell you how to do that. On IBM or LENOVO which use Intel BIOS, hitting Enter when instructed then F12 will direct you to your startup device. It is still a mystery how to direct it on this machine. - after you stop the Win10 install, you have to pull the power to erase memory to be able to restart again and it may be directed to the thumb drive, or it may go back to the Win10 install screen again. THIS IS CLEARLY MY BIGGEST GRIPE with this mini computer. - MY PROS -has 4 gb RAM -It is small in size, about 6" x 6" x 1" and is very light. You can't depend on the computers weight to hold it in place, even a cord to a keyboard can drag it off the desk. -If you place it flat on the desk top surface, put some rubber feet on the bottom. There are air vents on top and bottom, sides so you need to keep this area clear for some air flow. -The Celeron processor runs beautifully. Once you get your operating system up and running, you will not notice much if any difference from using a regular desk top. -It comes with Win10 ready to be installed by you. I can't offer any thoughts on this as I don't run Win10. -It runs all the different flavors of - Linux, - ubuntu and - Debian operating systems that I have tried. They all run perfectly. - you get 3 USB 3 ports, a power port, VGA and HDMI port, Mic and headphone port. -If you will be using it for a desk top, the 3 usb3 ports should be enough but it will handle a usb Hub if needed. -Big Plus for me was NO FAN NEEDED for cooling. This means no fans to wear out which allows this to be used for music play, animations, and of course for smartening up your dumb TV. I Recommend this Mini Computer. OVERLOOKING the USB startup concern for alternate Operating systems, as it may be something I missed, I would recommend this Mini Computer. I was happy with its small foot print that can fit just about anywhere, the great function of the Celeron Processor and its ability to run LINUX, ubuntu and Debian Distros with no problem it runs and performs almost exactly like your desktop/laptop at home. The answer is YES - this is a legit Windows 10 Pro PC for $100-something dollars. And YES it does work well given the price point... a family member of mine has a PC that is about 7 years old and this thing blows it away in terms of speed and reliability. That's because this thing is completely solid state - no moving parts whatsoever. If you're going to buy this I suggest you be a PC/Windows power-user, or have access to a Windows power-user... because it can be quirky to set-up and maintain. For example... when you have to reboot (and you will) the system can hang. It's an easy fix to boot (remove the HDMI monitor cable, and/or the dongle for your keyboard/mouse and it will boot) but you can't expect Grandma to do that every time the system requires a restart. Strengths... it's tiny and super light in weight. You could attach this to the back of a TV (bracket included) or hide it almost anywhere. It's 100% quiet (no moving parts). It runs very well for regular tasks (perfect for youtube, streaming HD video, browsing the web, word processing, simple games etc). I'm using it as client for my media server so I can watch any of my HD content on my bedroom tv. It however has its limitations... NO, you won't be able to run newer 3D games or 4k video or other high-end tasks without any issues... this is a basic Windows 10 PC, not a power-PC, don't buy it expecting it to be anything more than basic. Cons: -Runs warm... the outer box is always warm to the touch, especially when the CPU is being taxed. That's to be expected because there are no fans, but the longevity of the product concerns me because of this. -Quirky... as mentioned above, you need to have some basic PC and Windows knowledge to own this because it tends not to be "plug and play". Yes, they offer advice and help via their online forums, but to be honest they default to that way too much ("Check the forums... ask on the forums"). There really should be a standard FAQ or User's Manual you can reference, you shouldn't have to rely on asking questions online to get answers to basic operations problems or questions. -Storage... with a low volume solid-state system drive, you're going to want to invest in a decent sized SD card (supports up to 128GB) to store files on. -Sleep... mine will sleep if I tell it to sleep, but will NOT enter sleep mode on its own (I set the power options to sleep after 30 mins). They tell you on their forums not to worry about sleep mode because "this PC consumes a very little amount of energy" but that's nonsense to me, any PC should sleep or be shutdown when not in use, no matter how little energy it consumes when its turned on. I'll be adding a media remote to this PC so I can manually tell this item to sleep and wake-up, because something in this set-up is preventing it from sleeping when it's automatically supposed to. Other concerns I've read: "Don't let windows update itself" - I didn't find this to be true... when Windows 10 updates itself and needs to reboot you may need to pull your monitor cable and keyboard dongle out to get it to boot, but it accepts all the Windows updates (so far). -"It's not a full copy of Windows 10" - well yes and no it isn't... you don't get a disk and registration key with this PC to use wherever you please... but the copy of Windows 10 Pro that is installed on this PC is indeed FULL and LEGIT and AUTHORIZED. If you need to start clean their forums will direct you to the software and provide you with a registration key... but this copy of Windows 10 is tied to this PC. So no, you don't get a full copy of Windows 10 to use however or wherever you please, but yes, the copy of Windows 10 installed on this PC is FULL and AUTHORIZED. I am very happy with my purchase so far, and think if you know your way around a PC and Windows and can deal with a few quirks here and there, that you will be happy with purchasing this as well... especially at this price. 3/2021 Update, after one year of use: going stronger than when I got it. Still has accepted every single update Microsoft has thrown at it. They sometimes take a little while to process, but no update has “broken” my system. In fact an update about 8 months ago somehow fixed the reboot problem where you had to remove the monitor cable. It now reboots every time like a champ without having to pull any cables. Runs/streams kodi 19 and 1080p content to my bedroom tv a few hours a week and works better than when i bought it. ... show more

this is incredible value considering that it comes with windows 10 pro and can output 4k/60hz, although it has trouble decoding 4k 60fps content. i immediately upgraded it to windows 11 and installed various cloud gaming clients and tv/video streaming clients, and everything works perfectly, even in the 4gb/64gb it comes with. i can't recommend this highly enough for cloud gaming, it's simply perfect for that. obviously this isn't for local gaming, and it's not worth even trying to install games on it. UPDATE: i got a 1440p monitor for it to run shadow pc and had to limit the shadow pc client to 50fps to get a smooth stream due to the local cpu's decoding bottleneck. ... show more

Product: Coofun GK41 - 128GB Manufacturer: BESSTAR TECH LIMITED I am very impressed with this computer. I think this is a good computer to consider as a light media streamer (read on for operating system observations). This computer is pretty much ready to go right out of the box! It comes with 8 GB RAM installed along with Windows 11 installed on a 128GB M.2 SATA SSD card and an Intel Celeron J4125 CPU that runs its 4 cores (4 threads) at 2.0 GHz. I plugged mine in and waited for Windows 11 to go through its 'first boot' process. After about a minute or two I was able to get into Windows to start testing it. It truly does have 4k @ 60 Hz video playback in Windows 11. I am very impressed! In Windows 11, I checked out some YouTube 4k/60 Hz streams and watched with the 'stats for nerds' enabled. Out of 10,050 frames it only dropped 60 (~0.6% frame drop). That's not perfect, but it is pretty darn good. I could not visibly see any hiccups and the video playback looked buttery smooth. I did not test any games. Next, I popped it open to look at what is inside. There is a 128GB M.2 SATA SSD in my computer. Right beside that drive is a combined power/SATA cable for a 2.5-inch SSD/HDD ready to be used. I did try to plug in an NVMe PCI SSD but it didn't work at all - I did not troubleshoot it. So, I took out the M.2 SATA and installed Ubuntu 22.04 LTS on a 2.5-inch SSD. (tip: mash on the DEL key during boot to get to the BIOS to select the boot device) Video playback under Ubuntu 22.04 was both good and bad. It was really good on 4k Netflix playback through the Firefox browser. It was also buttery smooth when playing back some demo 4k/60Hz test files playing in VLC - 0 frame drops. The bad? In Ubuntu 22.04 YouTube streaming at 4k/60Hz was an abysmal failure in Firefox. I was experiencing 75 to 95% frame dropping - it was herky-jerky! I downloaded the YouTube video and played it back in VLC with 0 dropped frames. I didn't do any investigating to figure out the disparity. I *was* going to use this to experiment with Ubuntu Server functions since I'm currently reading Jay LaCroix's new book, Mastering Ubuntu Server. I chose this computer because I wanted a low power computer that I could leave on for long periods of time without feeling guilty. I measured 20W of power at its maximum draw. When it's idle it hovers around 5W - amazing. Now that I know how good it is at video playback, I might get another unit to use as my home media computer! ... show more

    • Nice little desktop computer but had to jump through a few setup hoops
Good form factor, powerful for its size. Only has DDR 3 for ram but, at least it's expandable (8 GB included). Am currently experiencing problems with a balky USB-C port to a portable touch screen monitor which was working initially but now only works with 3 cables attached rather than the single USB-C 3.1 advertised. Will try to work it out with their IT support. The fan is a bit noisy but still tolerable. It's a good value for the money but I don't do any video editing or gaming. It's a lot faster than the defunct Intel 3i Dell laptop that it's replacing. Update: After a couple of days I'm still having spotty connection with the new portable monitor (as detailed above) as well as with an HDMI connection to a 4K TV. Recently after trying all sorts of workarounds, I'm confronted by the Windows didn't load properly message and all the options to fix the mess. I tried all the possible fixes but couldn't complete the disk wipe or finish the reset sequence. Having been stuck in Windows limbo I consulted with the Amazon "guru" and we got an email out to this vendor. Hopefully I'll hear from the vendor in the 2 business days as promised with some positive resolution. It was nice when the computer was sorta working but now it don't. 2nd update: About a day later I had an email exchange from what I'm assuming is OEM tech support in Asia. After a few back and forths they pointed me to something I overlooked that kept me from booting to Windows 10 after a complete reset/disk wipe. All seems to work now but I can't use my touch screen monitor with a single USB-C 3.1 cable as I did before. Curiously, tech support claimed that touch wasn't supported through that interface and was surprised when I told them that I was able to do it initially. Well, I'm going to leave things as they are for a while and maybe attempt a driver repair at a later date. I am grateful with the support I received from this seller/company but I wish everything worked in a consistent way from the get-go. 3rd update: Since there seemed to be a problem with the Win 10 setup as well as the aforementioned monitor problems the original computer was returned for an exchange. I had to do a complete reformat with an external program of the boot SSD since I couldn't do the reset in Win 10. The replacement U700 came within a week and setup went without too much drama. There were some problems with a few peripherals but these were fixable. So far I've been able to reinstall a lot of the legacy programs that I use regularly. The monitor still doesn't quite the way it's supposed to but it's still quite usable with a few workarounds. Time will tell how well everything goes but for now, everything seems stable. I've gotta say, the support from this vendor/representative was exemplary. They were responsive to my concerns and answered my questions within a reasonable time frame. Four months in - prior to the event I am about to describe I was superbly pleased with this device. Alas, not forever as without explanation, rationale, reason, notice, or anything ELSE, this computer died and will not power on again. Connected through a surge protector; all other devices fine; no electrical storm or surge activity whatever. Desperate emails to seller have had ZERO result. None. So….I have a nice paperweight, even though by all legality and rationality this thing should still be within a reasonable 1 yr or even 6 mo warranty. Awful. Update: Ten days into device death, I am now without the dead device, without ANY device, and still out the funds to purchase. I shipped to the seller Dec 17...and no word yet despite FedEx confirming delivery. Frankly, my next stop is to go to a certain card issue with a Roman on the front...platinum, no less, and simply demand full recourse AND that the seller be barred from taking that card forever. The time this has taken is abysmal. If I could rate LOWER than one star I would. Update 27 Dec: New device arrived today, powers up well...but with ONE small problem. The processor within the new device is NOT what I bought (the AMD Ryzen 5 2400G) but the lessor AMD Ryzen V1605B series. The latter is much slower (2.0 gHz clock speed vs 3.6) and bears substantially lower benchmarks than what I bought. I have offered to accept a memory upgrade to 32 gB to compensate for the diminished value of the exchange - I am "without" for two full weeks now! We will see, I will update when I learn more. For now, we stay at 1 star until resolution is obtained. Update 28 December: Attempts to contact Jack's Shop were useless, and indeed, this entity processed utterly without consent a refund for some $20 to account for the difference in product originally purchased versus device in hand now. I was willing to simply accept a new, proper, device (with the caveat that I ship back the substitute AFTER I received the replacement). Amazon, however, has done more than the right thing in refunding the original purchase price (less the $20) to make me whole. The rating provided thus reflects a blend of what I think about the device in hand (3 stars), what I bought (4 stars), Jack's Shop (0 stars, and yes, I know...), and Amazon itself (5 stars). This has been agony, frankly, and while Christmas impacted the ship-back, the device substitution followed by an arrogant approach from Jack's Shop itself was the real sticky-wicket. So far this is quite, fantastic 4K images, and fast. Set-up was frustrating as it auto connected to the internet and then required a work or student account. Contacted the seller, they provided a solution that worked perfectly! The only thing hated is Windows 11 tries to force only Microsoft apps. You have turn off the firewall and Microsoft antivirus to load anything. Recommend replace this as soon as you can with a real anti-virus malware app as Microsoft will permanently delete your application set-up files from your set-up location or drive. Microsoft doesn't want you to use anything which is anything not Microsoft. For this reason, Microsoft is not a preferred operating system. Microsoft is to intrusive and a bully these days. You can set this PC up without connecting to a Microsoft account which is highly recommended to keep priority business work private. The only reason to keep Microsoft is because some apps require it to work, else it would be ditched because of its attempts to force only Microsoft products and Microsoft tries to control everything you do including wiping out your application setup files. So make sure you back up all of your set up files before trying to add them to this machine. Make sure you turn off Windows Firewall and Microsoft Anti-virus before trying to install any applications. Install your applications, load a real antivirus software like Vipre or other, run a scan, make sure you new anti-virus is functional and you should be good to go except turning off Microsoft annoying attempts to get you to log into a Microsoft account, very annoying! ... show more

This mini PC is awesome. Its well designed, powerful and capable mini PC that can handle just about anything you'd hope for in a small package. This little beast not only has 4 USB ports, Its great mini pc for everyday tasks, it is capable of web surfing, tv show streaming and a lot more. It is very simple to set up and all of the ports work out of the box. I'm especially satisfied with USB 3.0 port, VGA and HDMI port. it also comes with a setup ready bracket where you can attach the mini pc to the back of your monitor, this is very useful for me and looks very neat. I am very impressed with it capabilities and noise level is almost silent. Its compact size with multiple USB ports is what makes it so hard not to like it. It was able to handle 2-3 monitor screen at the same time. I was able to surf the internet, watch Netflix or Youtube and do some work and surprisingly it can handle it and there wasn't any lag. This mini PC come with a high speed CPU, Intel Celeron J4125 processor, up to 2.7Ghz CPU It has a powerful processor and a preinstalled Window 10 operating system, It can support dual screen, reduce the waiting time, improve your work efficiency. The media could not be loaded. Since 2012, I've began switching from the bulky desktop computers to these so called mini PCs and this is probably the 5th mini PC I have purchased so far along with many other Raspberry Pi and Amazon fire stick/TV that I have. So far, this is the most power mini PC that I own which doesn't really break my pocket, compares to other similar spec brand names mini PC, in which they can cost as much as $350+. This mini PC utilize the Intel Celeron J4125 processor which was released last November, thus this is a very recent model. I remember the time when we customize our own PC with different board/parts, which was cheaper than buying a pre-configured machine. However, those times had passed... machines like these are way cheaper now compare to building my own. For instance, the J4125 CPU alone would have cost me over $100, plus the motherboard/CPU/Hard-drive/RAM/case/etc... all that for this similar spec would have cost me over $400 easily and I probably won't even able to put it together as nicely as machine. What I love most about this are the following features: 1) all 4 USB ports are 3.0 ports, no more cheesy 2.0 ports like previous models. 2) Dual gigabits Ethernet ports which i really don't see many mini PC that has, this means you can take advantage of Teaming/Bonding for your network which can help doubling your network bandwidth; or you can just simply have your computer hook up to 2 separate networks to differentiate between a business or a personal connection if necessary. 3) Dual video out with Display port and HMDI port. The display port is great for doing 4K video output that some monitors will require. 4) Has Built-in LPDDR4 (Low-Power Double Data Rate Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory) 8GB Memory, this in term helps reduced the power consumption than the traditional DDR4. The only draw back is that you can't be able to upgrade memory, but with 8Gb of RAM, it's pretty plenty for most users. 5) Finally, there's a built-in microphone on the front, this is a great feature for Windows 10 Cortana, we can finally speak and do voice commands during Windows installation and during normal usage. I can't think of any drawbacks but if I'd recommend manufacture to include a similar media remote controls like the one that comes with Amazon Fire TV, that'd be a great addition to this machine, especially for me when my main purpose is to use it as it media server and entertainment center. ... show more

Overall this is a nice basic setup for email/web browsing and light office work. It would probably work as well for some basic IoT type scenarios. Only issue I had was I could not get the DP port to output video in any format that any monitor I have (I tried several) would recognize. The HDMI port works fine. So, let me start with one thing no one here mentions on the reviews the build quality. The device reminds me of one those cheaply built android tv boxes. It is in fact that size of home my concern to be determined is the durability of such device due to its size. The material is all cheap plastic. That is one thing that Mini PC Intel Celeron J3455 6GB DDR4 is much better as that one feels that they used way better materials then this box plus it runs out of the box on windows without any glitches. On this box on my Vizio I would have to unplug the hdmi plug it back on in order to stop monitor glitches when turning tv back on after of hours of non use. So I recommend that you contact there support if you are having problems with this as they appear to be responsive. I would also recommend to get the extended warranty just in case it just dies on you due to the build quality of the hosing of this device. Now for what this box is good for is on untangle that is what I use it for. Way better than Mini PC Intel Celeron J3455 6GB DDR4 on that respect. The extra power from the processor allows me to almost get my full gigabit speed. I have mine connected to a Nighthawk 1750ac and get extremely fast WiFi I assume that if you have a newer wireless access point that it would provide even better results. I get more than half my speed on my mobile device which I find that to be great. On lan on my Laptop I getting close to 900 up and down. This is with spam blocker, Ad blocker, intrusion prevention, firewall, web filter and virus blocker running at the same time. So I can not complain about this at all. The other device that I mentioned on this review is about 700 up and down with the same features on so this one wins hands down if you wanting to use for firewall security. I read on post that pfsense and or opnsense would work but they do not take advantage of quad core processors so it would probably most likely affect the speed thus the reason I have chosen untangle. Opnwrt was my other choice as I believe it does take advantage of the cores and I believe you can use wireguard under opnwrt as you can on opnsense and pfsense. I believe these companies should have in their website or when sending these systems out a DVD image or a usb of the system so one can restore it. ... show more

I don't use Windows. Installed Linux Mint, and it works very well. I believe the audio jack works in Windows, but the drivers don't appear to be there in Linux Mint. Everything else, including the wifi works great. Really happy with it. Hope to buy another some day. These are great little machines. They run Minecraft well enough, and some other 3d games. Obviously not a dedicated gaming machine, but works! ... show more
