First of all, I do not write reviews without testing the product well first. During first day of use I was happy with it even though the cut wasn't smooth. When the first battery died I charged it right away so I have one reserved while I am using the 2nd battery. I was disappointed though because it was not taking charge at all. I was not sure if the charger was the issue or the battery. I then contacted the seller and they sent me replacement batteries. Meanwhile I decided to use the 2nd battery then the same thing happened it would not take a charge. I informed the seller that I am suspecting the issue might be the charger because I didn't think it's possible to have both batteries not taking charge. I asked if they could replace the charger. The response was that they would try. Since I was not getting a definite answer I decided to order a new 6 inch saw instead. I couldn't wait for when they decide to try. Then when the replacement battery came after using its charge I put it on the charger and they both work fine. The charger light was red when the battery were connected and turn green when fully charged and i never saw red light with the old batteries. The new ones do take charge, so I am finally able to use my saw again. I used it today as a back up for the 6 inch saw and I didn't ran out of battery with this saw. Overall, this is a great product and i recommend you get one . It sure beats using hand clippers! You hold the branch in one hand and use the saw with the other. Then put the cut branch directly into can. No need to bend over to pick up cut-offs. And it really will quickly cut limbs up to about 4 inches, no lie! (no can do that with hand clippers!!). For longer wear, I dip the chain tip 2 inches into a can of used motor oil every so often, although this is not required by the manual. So far, i have not needed to recharge any batteries, so battery life is at least 2 hours. I have both gas and electric saws that are much bigger, but I grab this one first because it is lighter and so much easier on your back. ... show more

I was truly skeptical on this purchase. As a 72 year old woman, I needed something that was lightweight but would cut through a 4” branch. During a monster thunderstorm, my back yard neighbor had a 17’ branch fall from her pin oak on my side of my fence. The largest portion of the branch was 4” in diameter. Bought this some years ago and was using it to trim the bushes at one of my properties then as my yard care specialist had been not taking care of the yard at one of the buildings. So I bought this with the intention of taking care of bushes and some small tree branches/trunks to maintain the property as the trees were on the sidewalk part of the building (the city required owners to take care of trees on the sidewalk as they would not do it and would send you bills if you didn't take care of the side walk outside your property lines. Works ok for twig size branches and has issues going up against slightly chunky tree branches. Doesn't have an oil reservoir, so you have to lube it up a lot. Battery last ok last I remembered. Not a good replacement for a chainsaw, even on smaller but still chunky tree branches. ... show more
