  • Great semi-permanent lock on
I bought this stand because I was looking for a lock-on I could leave out year round for a few seasons. In that capacity, chain rather than nylon straps was preferred and while I can only say at this time the seat has held up for a year, my gut told me a seat without foam padding would be less alluring to critters and insects. A few considerations: -- First and foremost, THIS IS NOT A HANG AND HUNT stand. It's heavy, not a cinch to hang and good luck doing so without metal clanging metal. -- when hanging it, have the stand to your left. That way you are on the side where the chain is connected. It's easier than reaching across the stand to secure the chain to the metal finger you cant readily see. Better yet, first install a large hanger, hang the stand from it while you are secured with a linemen's belt and wrap the chain without having to hold the stands weight. -- the chain is not terribly long. I'd wager an 18-20" tree is doable, but I have not measured to say for sure. That said, you can add on the chain although I'm sure Millennium wouldn't suggest you do. -- if you do leave this stand up all season and don't loosen the chain every year or two, you could be in a real spot if the tree grows to the point it envelops your chain or is so tight you can't get the chain off the finger of metal it slides over. Now you are talking about unbolting it in the tree, cutting the chain, or saying "screw it." Easy to avoid, but valid nonetheless. -- with a ratchet secured closer to the platform the stand is rock solid. -- the seat dries quickly and if left in the vertical position is not so inclined to get wet. -- I do not like that the seat lifts and falls with no restriction. In other words, there is some wobble where it connects to the vertical post and that connection is not so tight to avoid the seat from falling if say you or your lifeline would bump it. Not a huge deal, but it made me appreciate my Lone Wolf stands for that ability. Also, because the Millennium seat is so big, it is more in the way than most stands I have hunted from. All in all this stand with a lifeline is a darn fine deal. I have two and will be buying more in time. If you are looking for something semi-permanent, you could do way worse. ... show more

  • Best Value in a Hang-On Treestand
I just received my third Millenium M25 stand and am still amazed at the quality, simplicity, durability and overall value. It's a rock-solid stand when hung properly, with platform and seat sizes that are more than adequate for my 5'7", 180-pound body. If anything, the seat is a bit too deep, but it provides ample room for turning around to see what's rustling the leaves behind you. The footrest is a bonus I did not appreciate until sitting for several hours at a time. With the included SafeLink life line (~$30 when bought separately), this stand is a tremendous value. I cannot overstate the increased confidence of being safely tied in from the moment you step off the ground—especially when transitioning from stick ladder to stand. I have had one M25 hanging in a tree for two seasons now, and there is no degradation in the seat material or the ratchet strap so far. The stand is a bit heavy to hang, but if you use a linesman's belt and rig a hoist to hold the stand in place at the height you want, it's not a problem... even for this 53-year-old deer hunter. The chain is a tad short for large trees, so check it at the base of the trunk before trying to hang it at hunting height. The M25 has become my go-to setup because of its strength, silence, features, SafeLink line and overall value. ... show more

  • love the stand! got 2, then bought another
I just bought another m25 this year. They are the most comfortable stands I have ever used. (I bought some of those mesh lumbar support backrests on sale for $3.99 at Menard's and bungee them to the trees...so nice). As far as the chain goes I really like it. I hang these in pine trees as well as others and leave them out for months. They are very stable if you hang them correctly (you put the chain on while it is folded up, and when you unfold the platform it tensions the chain). Very quiet, does not squeak at all. Some guys complain about the chain making noise while hanging them. Seriously though, If you think a deer can't hear you while you are putting climbing sticks up and hanging a lock on stand with a ratchet strap, I have an ozone generator that I can sell you and they won't smell you even if the wind is blowing right at them! They must have listened to the reviews because the chain on the newest stand is about 4 1/2' long. For $88 shipped and with the included harness, climbing belt and awesome rope (which works great for hoisting it up the tree) there is no better deal for the high quality of the stand. A foam pad is comfortable...for about an hour or so. n ... show more

  • Ok
I have 10 of these. If you leave them out year after year they start to creak with no way I have found to stop it after 2 years. I believe it's the seat. The other thing that really bothers me is the chain length. It doesn't have enough chain to get around a decent size tree. The previous model was way better and adding a foot or 2 to the chain would make it better. Very comfortable stand once up. ... show more

  • Good stand for the price.
I purchased two of these to leave out all season on one of the properties I hunt. These stands are a good value for the price and they are also very comfortable for a hang on. Lifelines were also included with each of them which makes them an even better value. Like others have mentioned, the chain is too short for larger diameter trees which is a real bummer and the stands are also very heavy. Not a stand I would want to lug around with me. also the mesh on the platform has some give to it after one year of use but I don't think that this will be a real issue. ... show more

  • Most Comfortable Hang On Stands on the market!!
I have several of these stands. As far as stands of this style, you will NOT find a more comfortable one. The Cam Lock Receiver makes it a breeze to hang. This one is a little heavier than some of the other models they offer, but I will leave it in place once it is secured to the tree,
