  • Good taste
I tried this because I heard it was the best-tasting honey on the planet. I am not a HUGE fan of honey but I do use it occasionally so I figured I would give this one a try. It still tastes basically the same as most other honey, but it is pretty sweet. I tried mixing it in with some plain yogurt and it was difficult to get out of the jar because it is pretty solid so I guess the best use for it will be in hot beverages, like tea. I will give that a try as well. I am not saying this is bad in any way, but I am not the biggest fan of honey, so take my advice for what it's worth. ... show more

  • Simply the BEST honey on Earth!
I have searched high and low in all countries for all types of honey. I've done my research on which type is the best. After reading that Manuka was the best, I started to try some but saw how pricey it was. So I chose the next best thing which was Scottish honey. It comes from clean air, clean land, and happy bees. You can't ask for better honey. And it's moderately priced. I did more research and found out that scientifically biologically, Scottish honey is better for you than manuka. Manuka comes in second best, but pretty close. John Mellis had some tough times with rains causing the bees to be a bit sparse, but they bounced back after a skipped season and now he's back to selling this great honey. It tastes of a light floral hint, very sweet, and with it being unprocessed, it's thick and spreadable. I use it mainly in my hot teas but I've guiltily dipped fried chicken wings in it and OMG...seriously...I couldn't ask for a better taste! It was SO delicious! I will always buy from Mr. Mellis. He's stationed in Scotland but is good hearted enough to send Americans his wonderful honey!! God bless that man!! I HIGHLY recommend this honey. I have health problems that require the benefits of unprocessed honey. This one is the one. ... show more

  • and more than I would like, but there is still enough of a difference ...
This is a tasty honey and I believe I can make out the flavor that the heather is adding, however it is definitely a blend. The pictures show the correct label, which is Scottish Honey; "... includes clover, bell and ling heather", as opposed to the item page title. The reason I point this out is I do taste the clover prominently, and more than I would like, but there is still enough of a difference from common clover blends that I believe 4 stars fits. I am very critical when I am tasting exotic honey varieties, so please don't mistake my reviews of honey for being outright dissatisfied. Instead my goal is to find the most unique flavors, typically from true mono-floral varieties. ... show more

  • THE BEST HONEY!!!
My husband and I absolutely LOVE this honey! It has a perfectly balanced flavor, mild, not too sweet...just right. We find that it not only tastes great, but is also good for sinus and allergies. We hope to visit your apiary one day and see how true perfection is made. Thank you for making such wonderful honey and for sharing it with us. ... show more

  • Great except for crack on jar
I love honey and this is no different but when I pulled it out of my cupboard I discovered that it was leaking from a crack in the bottom of the jar so I just wish it had been packaged better but otherwise the honey was great.

  • A thick, fragrant honey
I ordered this a week ago to use in cranachan, and it fit the bill perfectly. Its viscosity was helpful for whipping the cream (I think a thinner honey would have made it more difficult). I won't use it for everyday, however, as its price is a little dear. Just a side note: the label pictured as of Jan 26 2014 suggests this is a honey blend. The one I received is labeled "Scottish Heather Honey," and if it's a blend it doesn't say what it blends. ... show more

I love the thick creamy texture and floral notes to the taste of Scottish Heather Honey and this Scottish Honey with a blend of clover and heather is also delicious
