This is by far the best high-tech baby monitor out there. We tried numerous competitors and kept this one. The cry assist actually works somewhat well, although I wouldn’t pay for it personally. The ability to backup to SD card is great! No more scams for cloud backup.

    • Absolutely Fantastic
I have been very impressed with the quality of this monitor. We have had a DXR-8 camera for years, but this unit is a huge upgrade. The picture quality is fantastic and the screen on the monitor is the perfect size. The night vision mode is surprisingly crisp. The cry alert is a feature that seems useful, but I have not yet figured out how to best utilize it. I have found that I like the functionality of the monitor when not connected to Wi-Fi. When you have it setup through the app also, the monitor seems to fight the app for control of the camera and it also puts a text timestamp on the image, which I have found to be very annoying and distracting. So, I reset the monitor back to factory settings and now only use the monitor and not the app. The only feature that the DXR-8 had that I wish this unit had, was the visual LED indicator that visually shows the amplitude of the sound. This feature can help you determine your child's level of distress at a glance. ... show more

    • Cheap product and not worth the money
The camera has a limited range of motion. It doesn’t do a good job of looking down into a bassinet or crib if you have it sitting on furniture instead of mounted to the wall, so you have to prop it up with other things to make up for it. The monitor barely works and it’s the most frustrating part of this product. It constantly goes “offline” (meaning it lost connection with the camera), even when it’s in the same room as the camera, so you have to restart the monitor for it to connect again. Also the buttons only work half the time so you have to press them multiple times for it to respond. Its really not ideal when you’re trying to check the monitor in the middle of the night and your significant other is a light sleeper. Not sure if it’s the camera, monitor, or both, but the picture quality isn’t what I’d expect for a new product purchased in 2024. Barely any color and the image isn’t super clear (I often need to zoom in to see if my baby is awake). ... show more

Every maxi Cosi product I buy or receive for review seams to get better and better! This is a top notch baby monitor with every feature you could possibly want or need, and some that you probably don’t need but are pretty cool. Mainly the CryAssist AI Cry Translation, it’s definitely interesting to see what the AI thinks is the reason for your baby being upset, but it doesn’t really seam to be very accurate. At least in my humble opinion. But considering AI learns as it grows maybe this will change in the future. This baby monitor does have an accompanying app, which can be a good or bad thing depending on your needs. The picture quality is fantastic! Seriously I can see everything crystal clear, I had a book laying open on the chair and I was able to clearly see the picture on the page and the words. Granted the book is larger and has baby print so it’s huge, but that’s still crazy. The sound quality is also really good. It is a bit pricy, but I would honestly prefer something like this over spending $150 on something that has just the bare basics and a subpar sound and video quality. ... show more

    • EXCELLENT baby monitor!
We love this for our niece because the audio and video quality is top notch along with the PTZ movements. It is very comforting to know what she is up to at any moment with this monitor and app, especially as she makes the change from co-sleeping to crib. Her parents are very anxious and waited longer than they should have but this has helped them appease a lot of their worries. Night vision and the soother plus being able to SPEAK to her has made the process a lot easier and this is a great buy for new parents! ... show more

    • Needs a standalone volume button
The AI feature is free for 60 days which is probably how long we need it for anyway. It has been helpful in the beginning to figure out baby’s cries, but it’s not totally accurate. Picture quality is great. The monitor battery isn’t that long as others have mentioned, but it’s not terrible. It absolutely needs a standalone, physical (or easier to access digitally) volume button. It’s not a dealbreaker for us because we only have one kid, but I could see it being an issue for some families and some sleeping dynamics. ... show more

This baby monitor was a pleasant surprise. The camera package came with everything you need to set it up. They also have an app for your phone so you can see alerts and real time. The camera picture quality was excellent and the pan tilt zoom feature was great.     • Amazing Features
Such an awesome camera, my first thought with 360 cam was using near floor or wall level for a pet who is home alone all day or when on a short trip. The sensitivity of the microphone makes ideal for pets who get separation anxiety. I have only had it up a short time because we are mainly using for out of the home, so I am curious to know how sound detection picks up on animals or if it works at all. I will update review if this proves affective. I love the alerts for sound detection because on our other cameras we have picked up our cat carrying a toy and whaling. As for a baby, since I mainly got this cam for my cat with anxiety, I can see where this would be an amazing camera for an infant, especially with concerns for breathing. The sensitivity and the quality are incomparable to anything I have used in the past for my daughter. The 360 view and cry detection makes this camera stand out from the rest.
