Wow, talk about a nice installation setup! The mount disc is pretty versatile and it’s super easy to just twist and lock the fixture in place. I had my concerns about the fact that it does not possess any UL certifications etc. Typically I don’t really like the idea of installing something that hasn’t passed some form of good testing and received a cert for safety. So the natural thing to do was to take it apart! The general physical design of the diffraction and diffusion layers is pretty nice. There are multiple layers to help push the light outward from the ring of LEDs around the edge. But the big question is the driving circuitry. I was really concerned about separation of low and high voltage sides of the driver. All too often cheap LED fixtures have a live or even neutral in common with the low voltage side. In this case it does not appear to have that problem, which is a big plus! They appear to be well separated, but I also see the green ground wire is not connected to anything at all inside…what?? I guess at least the entire fixture is basically plastic so there’s really not much that could need a ground for safety purposes, but it’s a bit bothersome to have a ground wire that goes nowhere. Make your own decisions about how you feel in this regard I guess. Safety and no certifications aside, the fixtures colors are quite good and easy to switch. My phone's sensor should be showing a pretty accurate reading of each of the settings, but to my eye they feel pretty nice. But I also feel like they are overstating the lumen output a bit. I cannot test and verify, but it just feels like it's’ not quite there. Overall pretty nice for the price, with a bit of questionable lack of a UL cert and odd ground wire situation. I would rate it 3.5 stars if I could. ... show more
