It works well to open our awning so we don’t have to replace the burned out motor, just wish it was a little sturdier but it does the job.

I put off buying this thing forever because it was pricey for what it was. But then the price dropped and I bought it. I am *so* happy with this darned thing. Now, after using the hot tub in chilly, rainy weather, instead of standing outside hand cranking the awning in, I can just pop my cordless drill that is dedicated for this purpose and furl up 11 feet of awning in just seconds. The crank is so much better than manually cranking the drop down shades, but I think the price could be lower. The product is well made and does what is intended, but I think they would have more sales at $40. At almost $80 I bought one, at half that price I would have bought two, which is what I really could use. ... show more

    • This tool is a blessing!
I'm an older guy with neck and back problems so manually cranking my awning up and down is an issue. The installer wanted over a $1000.00 to install an electric motor. Problem solved with this tool and my portable drill. It goes up and down with ease and now more more neck/back pain. LOVE IT! The only issue, and this is my issue, not the suppliers is that I didn't calculate the fact that I had a two foot tall transom window causing the placement of the awning to be two feet higher than most applications. As a result the tool is a little short. Fortunately I'm very tall so it's no problem for me but my wife can't reach. Again, this is not the suppliers fault. Don't hesitate to buy this tool.
