After tempering and getting it ready for the melt I liked how it retained the heat. While it was still hot it cleaned up and made it easy for me to do the next pour.so I'm sure that it will last longer than I expected. I had to make some bigger tongs so I could do the lift and pour. I'll see how it goes but for now it's going to get some use. I have no problem at this time. Except I'm going to have to use my Dremel to grind a pour grove Other than that it's a another tool on my bench. And I look forward to getting the most out of it. ... show more

The crucible slummed after two firings to 1550C. It ruined two expensive heating elements. Beware the temperature rating is not true!!!
