This bed arrived in a very heavy (2 person!) box but the pieces inside were helpfully bundled together in smaller amounts so they were easier to move. The instructions are simple and the minimal hardware is packaged conveniently. It includes the only tool you'll need, a hex key. I used my impact driver to make things go faster and was done with assembly in about a half hour. The rounded edges of the legs are a lovely detail, leaving nothing for anyone to bang their feet/legs on if your mattress, like my mom's, is sized just right and completely covers the edges/corners of the frame. Using this with a thick foam mattress and Mom can't feel the wood slats or center support bar at all, something I saw as an issue in reviews for similar beds. Would recommend getting a quarter inch bit adapter to use with a screw gun and you’ll have it assembled in no time. Was simple enough to put together with 2 people. It's stable & sturdy. Greatly expands the underbed storing capacity. The mattress doesnt slip around any more on this than any other frame or boxspring. (Just use some anti-slip grip liner if it's a problem) An occasional tightening every so many months might be a good idea for 225+lb folks... especially if anyone tends to toss/turn. Boards being on velcro straps is nice. ***BUT*** Though the support boards are strong , they're made of a flexible wood that bows with just enough give to create dips on each side & creates a hard ridge down the middle support beam. Plywood or 1× trimming strips cut to fit are a fix for this. We half expected this due to other reviews. Even with the work/added expense, was still a good value. ... show more

It’s very high off from the ground and I love that. My only complaint would be that my 12” does constant slide since there’s no groove or insert for the mattress. It’s a FLAT base ALL the way, which some my like. But now we are looking into Velcro solution but the frame is sturdy. No wobbles or squeaks. I built it myself 5’3 120lbs super easy Comes with all the tools you need for a quick build. And the best feature are the CURVY LEGS!     • Surprisingly Sturdy - No Plywood Needed
Size: Twin Style: 18 Inch
This frame is Surprisingly Sturdy and contains everything needed. I was doubtful that 4 hollow metal legs could support a twin bed without flexing using only 2 bolts to connect each horizontal cross member to each leg. So far the bed has not jiggled, so my backup plan to add extra brackets was not required. I was also concerned that the approximate 3 inch gap between the slats supporting the mattress would not support a mattress without a box spring. I thought it would require a sheet of plywood, so I had one standing by to add. I was happy to learn that the slats are sufficient and plywood is not needed with no perceptible sag between slats when looking under the bed. Assembly was not difficult, but smaller hands would be better to start the the bolts into the threads. There is not much space for a wrench and no way to fit any electric driver in the space. ... show more
