I waited a few months to write this to make sure not to "honeymoon" this review. When you purchase this guitar, realize you are not buying a guitar from a large name manufacturer, but from a company that used kickstarter to get themselves off the ground. I would put money on the fact that Loog drop ships the guitars purchased from Amazon and other online retailers, so they are getting to you pretty much right from the factory. The guitar may still smell like lacquer (only for about a week or two until it finishes curing), may have a bump or large dent in the shipping packaging (mine did), and may not have the same Q/C as say a PRS custom shop - it's ok. It's a SMALL guitar for kids under $100 made over seas, for a small/newer musical supply company, shipped to your door, and not tested or q/c'd buy a reseller - like say sweetwater. It may sound "boxy" or like a plastic Ukelele, but the guitar IS IN FACT the same size as a Ukulele and has a fair amount of finish on it... Now that we are on the same page, I love this thing. I literally keep it sitting either on my ottoman or on my desk in the office Mine stays in tune rather well and I rarely tune it while living in humid south Florida. I did have to get the nut and bridge filed as the action is very high. I bought this guitar for myself to travel with or sporadically jam on. Other than the action being high, it is a great beginner instrument - minor adjustments needed. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This is the best beginner guitar I have seen. The cue cards and app make teaching my kids (5 and 2) easy and fun! Within a day my 5 y/o was strumming and playing different chords.

I bought one of this guitars for my baby girl who was only 14 months at the time I got it, but she used to like to play with my guitars, so I decided it's maybe time to get her own. She loved it from day one, and still does. Although she's still too little to play it the way she should, she's becoming very familiar with it, and like to play it or hear me play it for her. The guitars are extremely durable, as she's let it fall a few times or step on it, and there's not even a scratch. It's amazing how they stay in tune for the most part, and how durable these are. My mom got this for my daughters 5th birthday and she loves it. Super lightweight and easy for her to use, and my guitar teacher friend thought it was a great way to learn, since the three strings are easy to play, and much less daunting for children while they learn how to play! Tiny excellent sounding kids beginner guitar. This is our fourth brand of kids guitars and it sounds the best of all them. Even with three strings! The chords sound like real chords. It’s just so small, no room for growth, small for 5 year olds. Feels like the purpose of real learning will be limited by the size limit. Includes cute Montessori & monster style cards to learn chords. Includes two picks. We paid a bit extra to get a stand and strap, which was worth it. ... show more

Brought one for my niece’s birthday last August & picked up one for myself to use during quarantine to teach & play along w/her via FaceTime. Good move! As a musician of over thirty-five years I can say that the approach of learning the “real” instrument via its’ first three strings is a much less stressful approach & more inclusive to young children learning guitar than if they’d gotten even a small-scale acoustic. They even make fuller-sized models that older children can get into, even electric ones you plug into an amp. If you’ve a kid interested in learning guitar or even just music & want to approach the fun in it as opposed to the didactic discipline they might not yet have the attention span for, a Loog’s what you want...! ... show more

We bought this for our 2 year old son who has been infatuated with music, but more specifically guitars. He had a plastic coco guitar he loves to play, but also loves to abuse. We are using this guitar to teach him to respect the instrument and to learn how it makes different sounds. He absolutely loves it. Of course, he still gives it some abuse while we are teaching him how not to, but this thing seems to be able to take it very well. We also bought him the case and he just loves to come home and open the case to play his "new guitar" and he looks so proud when he puts it away at the end of the day. We are so happy to have found the perfect product to help guide our child's love for music and the guitar. I highly recommend this for any parent looking to do the same. ... show more
