I have a 7 y/o son so I bought this on a whim to see if it was something he would like. With this mic you can use it as a regular microphone (with settings for treble, bass, echo, volume), or you can use Bluetooth to connect to a music source for karaoke. We haven't used it for karaoke yet but as a mic my son and I are having a blast with it. If you put your lips right up to the mic it is LOUD - volume isn't an issue at all. My wife is having way too much fun for this karaoke mic that I got for my kids. Here's how we use it: 1) Connected the mic to my iPhone via Bluetooth. 2) Airplay my iPhone to my Apple TV 3) Find the karaoke version of a song on the YouTube app (e.g., Katy Perry Fireworks Karaoke version) 4) Start singing!! Doing it this way, we have the song on the big screen TV and the audio is coming from the Mic. The sound is really clear and there's no delay between the music on the TV and the singer's voice. I thought it would be hard to figure out how to sync with my phone but it was so easy. I turned on the mic and then went to my phone Bluetooth and saw the device and clicked on it. Just like that it was playing music from my phone over the mic and I was singing along. It a nice heavy weighted mic not cheep plastic. Look out American idol here I come. ... show more
