I love this dryer. Dries my hair in 10 minutes. I recommend using the styling attachments that best work for your hair. I use it on the lowest setting and medium heat. I think the highest setting is too hot for my fine hair. I have color treated hair and medium length hair. It really is powerful so lowest setting is best for my hair. It’s quiet compared to my hot tool . If I feel that my hair is getting a little knotted while styling I just stop drying my hair and brush the little tangles it gets from the strong air it blows that would be the only thing I would have negative to say about it wish it had one more lower speed. Like everyone, I was comparing this to the more expensive brand. I think this is the smarter choice and am very impressed. It's a huge improvement over my $40 Conair 1875W cool shot hair dryer I used for nine years. I don't miss that it died. The Laifen appearance is great. Minimalist and simple. Well-balanced and feels light. The attachments are magnetic and I'm happy there are two different concentrators as a choice for styling. The noise level is a huge improvement over a Conair "Quiet" dryer. The Laifen sounds only like a rush of air. You barely hear the motor at either level, it's more like wind. I'm sure I can even use this on my dog after giving her a bath and she won't mind. I think this will lower stress and protect my own hearing. The drying power is ideal. The low speed moves a nice volume of air, not wimpy. The high speed is very powerful yet still allows some control. The temperature choices are no heat, medium and high as displayed by the light ring. Medium heat is hot enough for styling, but not so hot you'd worry about damaging hair. High heat will definitely make you keep the dryer moving and avoid lingering on skin. To style my short straight hair with a round brush, I am using low speed with medium heat. High speed will dry faster, but will look wind swept if that's what you want. The cord is heavy duty soft rubber, not plastic. It's easy to manage and resists tangling. The 6-foot length is taller than me, so I wouldn't want it any longer. This is the best hair dryer I have owned. It is a lot of money, but I feel it is worth it for the ease and efficiency everyday. I can't imagine the more expensive brand being better and according to comparison reviews on Youtube it is not. ... show more

… but you run the risk that that may not be a long time. Hey, I get it, the name brand might fail too, but I have dealt with Dyson before under warranty and it was smooth, hassle-free, and most importantly they stood behind their product 100%. Notice that there is no warranty info on this product page. Notice also that (at the time I write this) fully 16% of reviews for this product are 1 star, and essentially everyone says the same thing: the product stopped working after a short time, or never worked. That’s 1/6 of all reviews. Thousands and thousands of duds. Do you like those odds? My experience: I ordered this for guests at my house to use, and it was used a handful of times within a week and then tucked away into a drawer. When new guests arrived a few months later, the hair dryer wouldn’t turn on: an inert lump of junk. For the few hours that it worked, it was ok—not earth-shatteringly good. Certainly not worth the money. If you have the resources I suggest considering whether a brand name with a good warranty backing the product is a better choice than this unit. ... show more

I have wanted a compact dryer for some time. I didn't want to pay $500 for one of the 'really nice' ones. Well, I saw this one and decided to take a chance on it since it was about half the price of the other ones. I figured it would be ok and would get me by until I could afford one of the 'other' ones. Let me say, I will NOT be purchasing any other dryer!! This dryer is fantastic. I absolutely love it. It's quiet and light weight. Also, the WAY it dries is very different. I've never been able to just dry my hair and go. I've always had to use a straightener to make it less frizzy. This dryer takes that frizz away. I'm absolutely shocked. I now dry my hair using a styling brush and I don't need to straighten it afterwards. I'm very impressed with this dryer. This hairdryer is absolutely amazing! I have purchased so many hairdryers in my lifetime, for myself and my daughters. This hairdryer. Is extremely fast, quiet, and light to hold. When I first considered purchasing it, I had my doubts due to the cost of the unit. My daughter currently uses a Dyson hairdryer. In comparing the two, there is no doubt in my mind that this unit far exceeds the performance of the Dyson. I recommend it to anyone who has dry hair because it dries hair very rapidly, decreasing the time heat is applied to even the healthiest of hair. I recommend it to anyone who has thinning hair as well. It’s very easy to style my hair using the magnetic attachments, easy to put on yet don’t fall off while in use. I would buy this hair dryer again and would definitely recommend it to everyone. Update: The manufacturer answered my e-mails, and after some quick verifications they sent me a replacement unit. They were very polite and helpful. I'm changing my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. Original Review: I purchased this Laifen Hair Dryer via Amazon on December 23, 2022. It worked great for about 9 months, and then just stopped working for no particular reason. One day while using it normally (no more than 10-15 minutes a day) it suddenly let out a spark, and stopped working. Now it only blows out cold air, which is useless. I am very disappointed, because it had everything to be a great hairdryer, but it only lasted about 9 months, which is just no good. I've contacted the manufacturer's customer service, but have not heard back from them yet... ... show more
