I bought this for the ease in cutting in butter to make scones, biscuits and piecrust. I really like it and wish I had purchased it sooner. It works without mixing the butter and flour too much. Purchased it for cutting butter into flour for pastry. That function is performed very well. I've also used it to chop beef and to blend hamburger/sausage for meatloaf and combo burgers. A little pricy but high quality and is a yet another nice addition to the mixer.
