  • Excellent
I don't pretend to be obsessive with the blues, and defer to my my learned friends on the genre. For me, this and Howlin' Wolf - His Best capture the two greatest blues artists and their most essential songs. Any lover of music should own these songs, all of them

  • For a compilation it is excellent
I actually like Muddy's later stuff better and this CD really delivers. If you aren't a blues fanatic who has or is planning on buying lots of Muddy Waters CDs, then I highly recommend this disc (along with a good compilation of his older stuff). Quite a few gems in here. You won't be disappointed!

  • The Master Cranks It Up!!!!
This is an awesome collection of blues tunes! Muddy still could fire it up with the best of them when he was in his 60's. The version of "Mannish Boy" is mindboggling and awe inspiring! The entire body of work with Johnny Winter as producer and performer is outstanding. I would recommend this to all blues/rock enthusiasts. This is the blues at its finest. ... show more
