This cover seems to be very solid and well made. The instructions were awful. But the product is good. Time will tell how it stands up. I am optimistic. Good deal for a lower cost unit.

I have a Tacoma. Looks great, built well (heavy). Easy to instal (the slide rail clamp are meant to slide, do not secure/screw them in). I went into the bed with the cover on and tailgate shut. There are points of daylight where some water can get in but it’s not bad. If it rains for an extended period while driving water is found in the bed. Small puddle here & there but not bad enough to warrant a low score. I toss a couple of beach towels in first then pile on the suitcase ontop of the towels to help with possible water. All and all I’d score it a B+. Maybe some tweaking on my part and more foam padding could keep it bone dry. ... show more

Installation took a few minutes with a couple of small hand tools. I'm not super thrilled it uses clamps on the bed rails as that precludes the use of one of my other parts (a bed divider that also uses the same rails) but changing from one to the other is possible depending on the use case, just a bit of a pain. I understand why they did it though and it seems very solid and secure. The panel latches are easy to adjust and have enough leverage to really lock the cover down. Even without the included weather strip, there is just the tiniest amount of light coming through at the front corners, so while not weather-proof, it looks like it will be very weather resistant. Adding the weather strip later if it proves necessary should be very simple. ... show more

    • Didn't survive first trip on the highway

I followed the instructions to a T, used the weatherstripping on the front and everything. It just didn't seem that secure, I adjusted and readjusted and tightened all the clamps several times as tight as I could make it. Eventually tried it on the highway and kept nervously looking in my rearview mirror....after about 10 minutes, I looked back and sure enough it was gone. Must have sheered the clamps because nothing was even left in the bed. It just silently sailed off the back of the truck. Thankfully no one was close behind me, I pulled over and couldn't even locate where it landed. For nearly 500 bucks, what a waste. NOT safe for highway use. Try something else ... show more

    • Was missing parts and instructions. Customer Service sent them out

Product came with missing parts (all the screws and clamps) and no instructions, so we couldn't install right away. Had to wait until customer service was reached via Amazon and then mailed out. I constantly have to retighten bolts and clamps, as they don't stay tight and loosen/fall off. This causes the cover to shift and go off the truck bed edges. Some times by a couple inches, once the whole product was in my truck bed and poking up at an angle. We put LOCtite on the bolts and that seems to be helping. The product isn't Toyota made, so it doesn't line up with the Tacoma truck bed exactly.. I have one side that lines up perfectly, and the other side which over hangs my truck bed. Makes me think it shifted while driving again, so I always get out and check the secureness of the cover. Save your money and go with the name brand. I'll use this until it's no longer working properly, but I should have just done it the right way from the start. ... show more

Lots of negative reviews for hard tonneau in this price range, especially regarding installation. I pit this on my 2023 Tacoma by myself in a coupla easy hours I has a factory tonneau on my 2018 and this is at least as nice and, I think, easier to use.
