This drum set is best suitable for kids 3-5 years old. Everything except for the symbol is made of plastic. The instruction manual is printed on one side of the box. It takes a while to figure out the pieces, but I manage to put assemble the entire set in under 10 minutes. If you purchase this product with the mindset that it's a toy for young kids and not really a true drum, you will not be disappointed. Don't expect to form a band with this set or take it to a talent show for example. It's really meant for a little kid to randomly bang at it to satisfy their curiosity. One thing which concerns me is the way the drums are mounted. I took a closeup shot of the connection. It's basically a plastic hook that latches on to the side of the drum. With a little force, I can see this joint snapping off. Overall, I recommend this for parents with kids 3-5 years old who are old enough to hold the drum stick but not old enough to destroy the toy. ... show more

Yup, thats right. I got excited over a small box of plastic parts that was supposed to have been a drum set for kids. Honestly, once it was put together the smiles of a 5 year old turned upside down real quick. I don’t know why there is so much misrepresentation of the product. From the pictures to the description and all the things in between, its all just a gimmick; theres absolutely nothing educational with it nor should it be called a musical instrument. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Over all concept is really nice, especially for a young kid's first/toy drum set. I like that each drum and symbol has its own tone. But all the hype went right out the window when I unboxed this kit to find it dirty, damaged, and full of defects and cheap/flimsy plastic parts. Any metallic colored clasping point cracked or broke when clipped together with its mate piece. It was meant to come with four legs (2 right and 2 left). It came with 3 right and 1 left. Luckily, just flipping one of the legs in reverse allowed it to fit as intended, but the unfinished side is what's visible. The pictured assembly instructions on the box are pretty clear and would be easier to follow if they'd just include a few more imagines. There are in-between steps that are missing due to lack of available space for more graphics. Some of the parts are depicted differently in the graphics than what was sent. Though, one part was shown to be a plastic pedal and was instead a metal spring (which is a considerable upgrade)! The arms that hold the drums in place are highly flexible, so when they are struck with any real force, they crack and will easily break. Lastly, the stool is really small, flimsy, and doesn't seem like it would hold much weight at all. Especially given that it cracked and had pieces chip out on assembly. Any kid would have fun playing on this set and get plenty of opportunity to explore musical sensory play with all of the sounds and movement it offers! But, with the materials its made of, it won't hold up to much play time. ... show more
