These are one of the best tie down straps I have used. It is so easy to adjust the tension. the hooks are the perfect size for the kayak. The ratchet tightens easily with just a pull on the cord. I haven't had them long enough to know about the durability but for the intended use, they look great.

I don't tie down the front and read of my kayak when I'm taking it to the river in my neighborhood. For that 40mph trip I'm fine with a pair of ratchet straps to keep everything secure. If I'm going on the highway then I need some peace of mind and these things perfectly fit the bill. The ratchet mechanism is easy to use and release and the hooks have a nice soft finish to avoid scratching my car. Until recently I was using a rope with a single hook that came with my kayak rack for tie down purposes and I'm glad I made this upgrade. In addition to not needing to memorize any fancy knot ties (which admittedly I should learn anyways...) these ratcheting tie-downs take half the time to set up. These are a must! I love that the ratchet part of them is super easy to pull and release. They are also great quality and lightweight so you don't risk damaging your vehicle or kayak. Plus, once they're wrapped up, they don't take a whole bunch of space!

These are so easy to use. I bought 1 set then ended up buying a second set because I was so happy with the quality. I transported my kayak 3,000 miles at highway speeds and on dirt roads using these. Two to the hood of my vehicle, two to the hatchback. Used in combination with hood anchor straps. Just wrap the excess cord around the taunt cord to prevent annoying flapping in the wind.
