Upon opening box it makes a positive first impression. I almost thought it was a Knipex at first glance. There is substantial heft to the tool and it feels well made. I got out some of my ss zip ties to test out . Tried it on first 3” pipe but tag end wouldn’t reach into ratcheting cross winder. Downsized to a smaller pipe and ratcheted , started to wind , zip tie tag slipped and pulled out after a couple of rotations. Smaller pipe again with 4” of tag pushed into tool and the ratchet finally had enough meat to grab onto. Pulled nice and tight. Gave the cutter try and immediately severed tag end , however it left a very short sharp tag sticking out of clasp. Sharp tag ends on any zip ties are not good . Even the plastic one cut lots of people. Box also contained a zip tie release tool , basically a small flat screwdriver like device. It worked well at relaxing metal zip ties.

I'm always doing projects around the house and go through cable ties like crazy (the plastic type, not steel ones). Sometimes you want to bound up something in a way that will last a long time and stainless-steel cable ties seem like just the thing for a variety of uses. Since getting the tool, I've used it for a ton of things including attaching a cellular booster antenna to a pole, attaching a wind indicator to a sailboat mast and securing a cable that I was running under my pickup truck. The tool itself seems pretty well built and easy enough to operate. Mine did not come with instructions so I had to sort of figure out how to use it on my own.

My first and only cable tie gun but when I do it's a great invention. No problems, fast, easy... Not exactly flush cut but that's not important to me. But it really should come with instructions. Then tension/cut adjuster knob doesn't seem to do much if anything but it hasn't been an issue. It works fine for the various size ties I've used. Don't know why I would adjust it. My instructions: Put the cable tie around what you want and pull it close to snug. Slide the gun tip over the tail where it leaves the ziplock. The gun slides on sideways. There's a notch for the tie. Pull the handle with half pulls (or less than full pulls) until it's as snug as you want it. Then pull the handle all the way to make the cut. If you don't want it snug, pull the handle all the way on the first pull to make the cut. You'll learn how much slack to leave with experience. It works great for adding a little strength to my hog cage out in the woods. The stainless zip ties don't rust!
