Biggest cons: if your phone's buttons are dead center of your phone, the arms that hold your phone in place will press against them. The top half that has the ball joint for the phone mount can actually rotate around the base. I thought it was rotating around the cup holder or the phone mount/ball joint was loose but it was the part from the base up that has the ball joint on it. If momentum of your car only swings it one way, you can rotate it until it hits the end and it obviously won't rotate past that point, eliminating the issue. Was hoping it'd be better than the cheaper ones and just as good as say the expensive weather tech with horizontal view (I needed horizontal view). It serves it's purpose for me. My phone buttons being pressed is a bit annoying. Usually after it's initially locked in, it doesn't affect the buttons though. So far the joint stays tight while driving and it has minimal bounce. My phone feels like it's pretty heavy for it and being that it's horizontal feels as if it has more imbalance to really accentuate any weaknesses. I use this in my cupholder that is up by my vent to the left of the steering wheel. It does the job well. It's really sturdy and is close enough that I don't have to look over too far to see my phone. I really like how the arms automatically close on my phone when it's in the open position.

I really like iottie products, and their mounting system is by far the best. They’re secure and you can use them one handed. This unit is obviously quite well made, too. The part that fits in the cup holder is cleverly designed, easy to use and secure. However, it’s geometry simply didn’t work in my car. It isn’t a flaw in the unit itself. This is a high quality phone holder. The only thing I didn't like is that you can't adjust how it holds the phone as much as some others. This one sits forward and on my car it blocks the other cup holder in front of it, so I have to to turn the phone facing sideways in order to use the other cup holder.
