  • GREAT ALL AROUND SSD!! (For PS5 or PC)
Capacity: 2TB Color: No Heatsink
I bought this Inland SSD for my PS5 because it was one of the less expensive options and seem to have many good reviews so I figured I might as well go for it! First, I did test it with my gaming PC and was easily able to get around the specified maximum read/right speeds in a PCIe 4.0 slot. Afterwards, I placed it in my PS5 (very simple and easy process).. also bought the combo heatsink slot cover designed to replace the stock SSD slot cover for the PS5. This worked out amazing! Since I did read plenty of reviews about many other heatsinks that don't fit very well and can cause problems with the stock SSD cover that comes with the PS5. At the time I'm writing this review, it's been about 6 months since I bought this Inland SSD and it's still going strong! I've moved quite a bit of games on and off of it, since I'd rather download new games onto this add-on SSD; as opposed to having so many extra reads and writes on the main SSD inside the PS5 since the extra SSD can easily be replaced if needed. All in all, you can't go wrong with this SSD! Regardless of whatever you're using it for, I highly recommend this for anybody that's looking for a solid m.2 SSD, and it's especially great whether you're on a budget or just want to save some cash! ... show more

  • Great for gaming performance increase...
Capacity: 1TB Color: No Heatsink
I used to play games on spinning disk and had to wait for things to load... Well, after installing this, games seems to load in a flash. Now, there is still some loading especially for high quality games (Flight Sim or COD, GTA V) BUT you will notice it does NOT take long to complete the process. File copying too is very fast. Would Highly recommend this purchase if you are looking for an increase in game loading times and better performance. ... show more

  • Screaming performance, gets warm tno
Capacity: 1TB Color: No Heatsink
Great device, very fast, but does get warm/hot. I installed copper sheet heatsinks on it in my laptop, its currently at 51deg Celsius.

  • This drive does not have hardware level encryption from what I can see
Capacity: 2TB Color: No Heatsink
The only good thing is it has high endurance (supposedly) cannot test this without burning out my disk. Aside from that, note that you do not get SED features. You would want that if you ever you plan to apply encryption to this disk, as it would be more performant and result in less writes which extends the life of the drive. I regret this purchase for this reason alone. ... show more

  • technically works for ps5
if you're thinking about getting this for the ps5, it technically works, since it's a gen 4 m.2 ssd, but be warned. The ssd cover will not fit with the heatsink it comes with on, so either anticipate that or get it without one and use another one. Two: the speeds *technically* aren't actually fast enough, the read speeds says up to 5000 and the ps5 technically is asking for one that's 5500 or faster. tested a ps4 and ps5 off of the ssd and they both worked but the ps5 game was just the next gen version of a ps4 game ... show more

  • Excellent Nvme Drive.
Capacity: 2TB Color: No Heatsink
I bought three of these INLAND Performance 2TB SSD PCIe Gen 4.0 NVMe drives. They are as advertized and very good quality. Definitely on my recommend list.

  • Works with my PS5
This review only relates to PS5 use. Yes, this particular NVMe SSD will connect to the PS5 and is recognized by the beta software as of 8/5/21. Does it fit completely inside the expansion slot with the PS5's long rectangular SSD bay cover screwed back on? No. The included heatsink attached to this NVMe is about 2-3 mm too thick to allow the expansion slot cover to fit into the designated slot. The setup does allow the NVMe SSD & heatsink to 'breathe' without a strip of metal over the expansion slot. Sony might not 'certify' that setup, but if it starts throwing thermal errors, I can always switch out the heatsink with a shorter one. My result: It is functional, detected and tested out OK on the PS5 as having a read speed of 5,636.941 MB/s -- higher than the minimum specs call for. For now, I'll assume the risk of more dust perhaps to save $ compared to a 980 Pro, SN850 or Firecuda 530. Patient PS5 users might save more by waiting for a more 'perfect' sale price on a Gen 4 NVMe, but the bottom line is this drive will work in a PS5 and is the fastest SSD I've had. ... show more

  • Amazing... if you have the right motherboard.
In short, if you have X570 motherboard with the latest PCIe interface chipset, you'll see a significant performance improvement over the previous generation. If you do not have the latest chipset, you will not see any improvements and should consider saving money and going with Gen 3.0 SSD instead. If you opt for this one and have the motherboard to support it, then you'll find it simply jaw-dropping fast. It was also priced very competitively -- at least at the time of purchase. Important -- if you own any Intel-based motherboard, even the lastest one, remember it will not support PCIe Express 4.0. Keep this in mind, so you are not disappointed. So, why is this one so fast? It's all about the new PCIe standards announced back in 2018 and just recently released into the wild in June when AMD announced the new 3000 series chipsets. Only AMD and only motherboards with the X570 chipset are currently compatible. This SSD works perfectly well with the new standard and can take advantage of the bandwidth. It's fantastically fast. The system boots up nearly instantly. I have only tested it on an open bench on X570 Taichi using the motherboards own heatsink and standard fan configuration -- still waiting for a new case and cooler to arrive. I will update this review once the new build is done but based on early testing I can assure you this SSD is a beast and worth every penny paid. Update: Six Months. Still absolutely thrilled with this drive. It’s super fast and working great. ... show more
