I plumbed this dryer in my air system after a combo regulator and "water trap." Within a few hours of use, the silica beads at the bottom of the dryer started shifting in color from a deep blue to purple-pink tones, indicating the absorption of moisture. Based on my usage so far, I would estimate that I will get about a week or so before needing to replace or dry out the beads. I'm a home shop user in Southern California where the humidity is relatively low, so someone that uses their compressed air system more heavily and/or is in an area with higher humidity might find the small volume of desiccant beads this unit holds to be inadequate/inconvenient. But at this price point, this dryer is a great value for less demanding users, or would be a good choice for drying the air stream at a specific point of use, such as a paint gun, powder coating rig, or blasting cabinet. I deducted one star from this review because a mounting bracket really should be furnished with the dryer. ... show more

Used this in-line air dryer for shop air used to flush auto AC equipment. Worked well. Kept back one star because 1) difficult to mount to wall (no mounting holes in head), and 2) small desiccant volume means that you need to switch out the beads on larger jobs.

Works great paired with an aftercooler, no moisture in my lines at all. I have a cnc plasma table, sand blaster and powder cut gun I use quite often. Change and dry the beads once a week on average unless I'm using the sandblaster for an extended period of time. Great and cost effective way to keep your lines dry. ... show more

When I filled this filter with the dessicant pellets the O-ring that seals the unit sheared somehow. I was able to superglue the o-ring back together (legitimate O-ring fix, just a tip) and it was air tight after that. But just a heads up that the o-ring doesnt seat well on the removable canister so be careful when filling/replacing dessicant. ... show more

It’s a great air line filter , you get 2 bags of the moisture absorbing blue beads and when they turn pink just lay them out on a cookie sheet in the oven for about 10 minutes at 300 degrees and then they are ready to go again .

    • Failed and Ruined Pump

After only about 5 uses the gasket inside failed and allowed the drying beads to be sucked into my $800 diaphragm pump ruining it. Don't see any way to order just the gasket. Cheap price, cheap product.
