  • Very lightweight, small, works great!
I'm an IT guy, and I've had Network Cable Testers before, but this unit is small, compact and you can disconnect that small side part to test a cable where one end is on one room and the other end may be way down the hall or another room or whatever. Very basic - does not do any fancy speed testing or connectivity - just shows that they're properly terminated. GREAT price! ... show more

  • It works for what I needed.
Needed a tester for my new place that had a bunch of ethernet cables coming out of a junction box, none of which were labeled. I used this tester to figure out which cables went to which rooms of the house, and also make sure the cables were in good working order, so that I could connect the ones I needed to the modem. For this purpose, this tester worked out great. If I used a tester on a regular basis, I would probably buy something more heavy duty. But for light/occasional basic testing, this is inexpensive and adequate. ... show more

  • Inexpensive, Simple to Use and Does the Job
The only lasting fault I can find with it is that it doesn't feel all that substantial. Since I'm not using it around hard-surfaced floors and I can put it back into the little box (yay! no blister pack) it came in before throwing it in with my other tools. P.S. I believe in saving paper, but I don't think instructions are the place to do it. ... show more

  • Product works great
Its easy to use and so far has worked perfectly. I tested it against known good cables and one known bad one and it worked as expected

  • Works fine, caught a bad cable
Used this for terminating a few cat 6 cables. It caught one bad connection that I missed, saving me some diagnostic time

  • Great tester for the cost
Great for those projects that you just need a confirmation that the wires are good. I used it when I ran new CAT6 cables to the entire house. Took the worry away from having bad cables run through the walls and ceilings.

  • Great for the Price!
My husband and I recently moved into a new home and our WiFi was being spotty. We were told to buy this device to check whether or not it was our Ethernet connections. When testing it was able to read everything well and with accuracy. It's a small size which is nice and feels quite durable. It is versatile to use. We found out our Ethernet connections were great and we decided to purchase a new mesh system, the eero system and it works great now! ... show more

  • Non functional out of box
I connected a known good RJ45 patch cable to test the tester right out of the box. Wires 1-3 and 6-8 tested as I would expect, but 4 had the master LED turn on extremely bright and no corresponding LED lit on the remote side. 5 did the same thing. There is no corresponding test result documented in the operation manual, i.e. they're both (master and remote) suppose to be on for a good wire or both off for a bad wire. Other known good patch cables did the exact same thing. A known good crossover cable did the same thing on 4 & 5, but it did show the crossover. Unfortunately, it would cost me more in time and money to send this back than what it cost. Very disappointed. ... show more
