  • Good looking XDA caps with one caveat
The media could not be loaded. Having purchased several sets in the past, it appears that most of the XDA designer keycaps on Amazon have come from the same source, in spite of different vendors. The dye sub prints, the designs and colorways, the sound profiles, the shortcomings, are all nearly identical. They come in many different designs that are often very appealing. They are also mostly well made with good quality consistency. They are popular for good reasons. Here are my observations of these soft surfaced XDA caps, including this one with circus themes. Likes: -- These keycaps have great manufacturing consistency and quality. There is a soft textured surface look, excellent color combinations, and very consistent dye-sub quality. The legends are mostly well aligned, with consistent and designer colors. The caps are well made with clean edges. -- While beauty is subjective, I think these circus cap designs looked better than I imagined, in spite of initial skepticism. I find the design rather unique, and color selections tasteful. -- The keycaps has a lower density and lower pitched noise when you type on them. It's contrary to either the high pitched clicky ABS sounds, or the slightly higher pitched typical PBT caps in my experience. The sound profile is fairly subdued thocc by comparison with everything else being equal. It may help you create the sound profile you want on the keyboard. -- This set comes with Mac compatible keys such as command and options. It also has quite a few nonspecific graphic keycaps, that can be useful on some custom boards, or in my case ortholinears. Has 135 caps which is quite enough for any layout. -- XDA is great for ortholinear boards as it's not sculpted. The keycaps can also be placed in any direction without screwing up the surface angle as on a sculpted keycap set. This is useful when it comes to arrow keys among other graphic keycaps. As it is also completely flat, it has a distinctive and clean look to it in my opinion compared to sculpted caps. Caveats: -- The biggest flaw with these designer caps which appeared to be from the same factories, are the keycaps materials. The descriptions claim them to be made from PBTs, but they are so scratch prone that my fingernails can create scuff marks on them, by running it across the surface a few times. Some of these XDA are softer than others, but most were scratchable with just fingernails if applied hard enough. Even my ABS keycaps won't be scuffed as easily, while good PBT caps don't scuff at all with fingernails which is actually very soft. It also means these keycaps will polish over time a lot faster than with real PBT caps. It's interesting to note that I rarely if ever see people mentioning this problem with these designer keycaps, even if all the ones I got which shared similar characteristics also had this material softness issue. I am not sure what material is used to make these caps, but I doubt they are true PBTs. --XDA profile is fairly flat and does not "hug" your fingertips as many other popular profiles such as cherry or OEM, or even DSA for orthos. It has a clean look with very small gaps between keycaps, but combined with shallow dish can create issues with typing accuracy and speed, or at least takes some adjustment with most people. I have gotten used to it and it does let my fingertips shift easier between keys than sculpted keycaps, but YMMV. These caps are well made with consistent quality, tasteful dye sub prints and keycap colors. It also has a lower pitched thoccy sound profile. The XDA profile has a flat and clean look, with large surface areas for your fingertips. However, the shallow dish and narrow gaps may take some getting used to for some. The softness of the material may be the biggest con, as it'll likely scuff and polish unlike true PBT keycaps. Otherwise, these present some respectable options that are fairly popular with lots of designs and reasonable prices. ... show more

  • Great Kecaps
I absolutely loved this keycaps set! I was worried it wouldn't have all of the funny little keys for my 65% keyboard but it did kinda. For the right side CTRL ALT and FN i had to use some of the accent keys but other than that im super pleased and recommend this set! They are super nice to touch and have a nice sound profile! ... show more

  • Adorable Little Marshmallows
I just got my keycap set! They're so cute. Here is my review: I just received this adorable keycap set for my new keyboard. They came super fast and the packaging was great. Each key was nestled in its own little "cubby channel." It was packaged better than some more expensive sets I have bought. They have a nice texture to them, so they're not to smooth, and won't leave greasy finger marks. The colors are super cute and give off a vintage vibe that you'd see in a cool girl's bedroom in the 80s. Overall I think this is a great buy and a more reasonable way to change up my look. Would definitely recommend. ... show more

  • Great printing, no noticeable flaws
None of the keys were warped (spacebar was perfectly flat) and the printing on the keys was great. If you are a fan of the XDA profile and want relatively thick keys that don't break the bank these are a solid choice.

  • high quality keycaps
Style: Dog
These are very high quality and nice looking keycaps. Kids say the characters are cinnamon rolls. I have no idea what characters they are but kids love them so much. For me, they are very well built. For the kids, they approve it. There are both Windows keys and Mac keys. So they work for both Windows and Mac. There are also plenty of alternative keys with different pictures that you can select. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Flawless keycaps
The media could not be loaded. If you are looking for dye-sub keycaps, these are a nice option. Though they are not double-shot but instead dye-sublimated key legends, these will wear a bit with time but there’s no way for me to test that until after years of usage. I will rate these to be 4 stars for the type of keycaps and price target ($30 at the time of this review) and I will add an extra 1/2 star on top of it because it is very well made keycaps without any strange/weird legend prints. So overall I will give a 4 1/2-star rating just because if these were perhaps $5-10 cheaper that would be a really sweet deal. The legends printed are dye-sublimated and they are PBT keycaps that will last a very long time. They obviously do not allow light to go thru the legends (non-doubleshot keycaps) but do know what you are getting at this price. What is nice are the keycap shapes and colors. This is subjective but I do prefer them on my Keychron K8 than the default keys that come with that K8 keyboard (which the legends are hard to read). They sit higher than the default keys but they are still great to type on. The surface of these keycaps have a bit of “texture” on them. They are not completely smooth like the ones on my K8 but they are good enough feel to your finger tips. Smooth texture with some grit (very slight). They fit exactly on my Gateron Blue switches and would work with most MX switches as well. The keycaps themselves are yellow but not your sun yellow but instead a pinkish hue to it. It looks very nice in person and I have no problems with the coloring they all blend well together. It comes with full size layout keycaps as well as a cleaning brush (which is a good quality stiff brush) to remove lint and dust between the keys and a keycap puller. None of the keys had blemishes and 100% of the legends were legible and clearly printed without any errors. They all fit 100% perfectly on my K8 as well. No strange gaps and or wobble. Every keycap keystroke works and in fact I find them even better sounding than the stock keycaps. The “thocc” sound isn’t present but that’s my K8’s fault. Overall it is a good keycap product. The only thing negative about this product would be the price tag that I’d ask that it be $5-$10 cheaper (this is just purely my own preference for what I am getting/expecting). Otherwise this is a fine 4.5 star keycap set if you are looking specifically at this material and color combination. ... show more
