Description

These filters offer both amateur and professional photographers HOYA's famous quality at reasonable prices. They have multi coatings applied to both surfaces to suppress reflection and increase light transmission. HOYA's UV IR Cut is a specialized filter that has the ability to cut out both UV rays below 390nm and IR rays above 700mn resulting in just the light rays in the visible spectrum passing through the filter and into the camera. This is important because CCD and CMOS sensors are extremely susceptible to UV and IR rays just outside the visible spectrum which have a very negative impact on image quality. The result is a sharper image with more depth, finer, richer colour graduations and a reduction of the effects of atmospheric haze to an even greater degree than a standard UV filter In addition, the filter is multi- coated, which greatly reduces lens flare and ghosting, and the slim frame helps avoid vignetting on super wide angle lenses. And of course, this filter will protect your lens surface from dust, moisture and other contaminants.

  • Hoya HMC UV/IR Digital Multi-Coated Slim Frame Glass Filter
Size: 55mm
I am using this on my digital with a built-in zoom. I use UV filters to protect the lens - had never used a UV/IR filter before, and I was a bit concerned about its effect when I realized it has slight color reflections in light. However, it is working very well. It certainly hasn't degraded my photos, and I would say it's probably improved them. It's a high quality filter. I recommend it. ... show more

  • Great product. Ignore guy with two star rating
Size: 52mm
This is a GREAT product. Even the person who gave it TWO STARS SAYS SO. Can't understand people sometimes. Anyways, I got this to work with my black magic pocket because of IR pollution when using ND. Works like a charm.

  • Excellent equipment
Size: 58mm
Purchased mainly for astro-imaging. Functions perfectly so far for my standard photography. No astro-imaging yet due to inclement weather. Probably deserves five stars.

Filter is very well made and performs as it should I notice a little vignetting of color but that may be a function of the lens and filter together at widest angle setting.

This IR cut filter eliminated the magenta tone on the GoPro camera with a modified lens system I hacked together. The original GoPro lens must have had a built in IR cut. Colors are normal again wit this filter.

  • Hoya UV-IR filter.
Size: 77mm
The Hoya 77mm HMC UV-IR digital multi-coated slim filter perfectly fits the lens of my Nikon D700. While I haven't yet been able to actually try it out, it came highly recommended to me by a professional. I suspect I won't be disappointed.

  • Read 1 star reviews and questions!!
Size: 82mm
A common criticism is a color shift or questionable color cast. I get green vignetting on my canon 15-35 2.8. I am amateur photographer who went on a professional guided tour. The guide looked at shot i was taking and said there was no green in the shot and took off the Hoya 82mm uv and ur cut. Clearly a difference. I reviewed all my pics needless to say I am sad that I had not picked up the color on my photos and the Hoya which was on the pricey side was not good for me. ... show more
