I have 4 children and a small house. We do not have room for 4 huge dressers. I got this with the intention of making it easier for them to dress themselves and gain independence. Assembly was as simple as it could be and quite self explanatory with a bit of common sense. DONT BE STINGY WITH THOSE ZIP TIES! They sent them with this product for a reason. I purchased the boxes separately and used my cricut to label each box for what clothes are in each one. I included the photo without my kids names on them for our privacy. I may just be purchasing more for my closet and getting rid of our dressers all together. I'm very please with this so far. The plastic could be a bit better quality but for 50$ I can't complain. ... show more

    • Take Your TIme and Use The Zip Ties!!!

This unit is, in my opinion, ideal for my use of displaying stuffed animals. I'm not sure about how many heavier items would be appropriate but, overall, the unit seems rather sturdy (if properly assembled). The one shortfall is that I couldn't find, in the instructions, any information as to the proper location in which to use the zip ties. I used them in a way that seemed, to me, to be appropriate and the unit seems completely stable (at least for my use). However, after doing some additional thinking, I think that the most efficient use of the zip ties would be to tie together, at the corners, each juncture of the "side" and "top/bottom" panels right next to each of the connectors (at the corner of the panels, which are the only places where there is an opening in the panels to allow the zip ties to be used). That means that at the top, bottom and two sides of the assembled unit, 3 panels will be joined (except at the very corners of the overall unit where only two panels will be joined). At all other locations 4 panels will be joined. Doing so would use 50 of the twist ties (for the 4x4 configuration), 25 at the front connector locations and 25 at the rear connector locations. That would leave about 10 zip ties unused which could, I suppose, be used to tie some of the "back" panels together, although that doesn't seem to be very necessary once the other zip ties are properly applied. I would recommend zip tying the panels together after each level of the "bottom" and "side" panels has been completed (even before the "back" panels have been inserted). This will make insertion of the zip ties around all of the panel pieces much easier than trying to reach in after the unit has been assembled. NOTE: some kind of "clipper" (I used a small wire cutter) can be used to trim some of the zip tie end off after tightening (I would recommend leaving at least an eighth inch of the zip tie end extending beyond the "locking" point. TAKE YOUR TIME!!! make sure that each panel is fully seated in the connector. Most of the time there should be an audible "pop" when the panels are fully seated I don't think the little hammer that was supplied is very useful; I just used my hands to push the panels into place. ... show more

Once reinforced with the provided zip ties, they become really sturdy and easy to move. We paired them with fabric cube drawers, as shown in the picture, which provide deep storage for stashing toys and other clutter. So bought 3 of these sets. I've worked with this type of diy furniture in the past so I knew what I was getting into. Take your time building it. Mistakes or spots that pull out of place are not easy to just pop back in. If you work slow and steady though, these are fantastic. I needed something that would create a wall in my kids room between their beds that wasn't perminate, over complicated, or expensive but would provide some storage and privacy in a shared room. These fit the bill. Because it's easy to customize these to your needs, I was able to build the whole wall as one piece. Each child has a section that is 6 cubes wide by 6 cubes tall that opens on their side for storage. They've had it up now 4 months and no issues. Bonus- it's easy to clean. Damp cloth, disinfectant wipe, even a baby wipe, works great. ... show more
