This sofa-arm tray/table is very nice and works really well on our wide sofa-arm. We didn't have the space to put an end table on that side of our sectional, and this tray/table is a great alternative. The wood looks to be of high quality and is easy to clean. It is large enough to hold remotes, cell phone, a water bottle, books, etc. It fits snugly and is very stable. Although I'm not sure how it would work on a padded sofa arm, as ours is not padded. The tray/table has foam backing on the undersides to prevent it from ruining the fabric on the sofa. It is a well thought-out design. My only complaint is that upon receiving it, I noticed that the finish had a very small chip in it and scratches off rather easily. So far, it is holding up, but I'm not sure how long the finish will hold up over time. ... show more

We really like this armrest tray. It is very sleek and minimalistic. It isn't an obnoxious shape or color. It isn't one of those draping ones that seem to always fall off the side of our couch. We actually have arms that are too wide for this model, so we only fold one side out and it still works great for us. It has not fallen off the couch once. I've seen so many little couch tables, or sofa consoles here and there, but the biggest thing I noticed about them is they aren't super flexible in terms of use, and tend to be higher priced than I'd like to pay for something so simple. Thankfully, I found this one available at an affordable price! Coming out of the box, the first thing I noticed was the weight. It's nice and hefty, which means I don't expect it to flop around and not serve its purpose. I appreciate the fact that it fits a variety of armrests, but can also be folded up completely to be used more like a tray on a couch cushion, or even a lap desk! Funnily my husband and I joked about putting it on the back of one of our European side chairs that has a wide, flat back, and it totally fits! We can totally have it function like a little side table (pictured)! I was surprised to see that it has some pretty hefty spring hinges too. Unfortunately, because of that, the side leafs don't allow you to lay it completely flat, to help create more surface area, but that's just a minor setback. Either way, the finish is beautiful and is a bit darker than most of the acacia pieces we have in our home, but it still blends in well. I have a feeling this is going to be my best bud! I'll definitely keep an eye on this company and see if there are others in their catalog, this thing is going to last a long while, and I'll definitely be back for more! ... show more

UPDATE: After seeing my review the seller contacted me and requested to send a replacement to prove that their product is better than the first one I received. Unfortunately, as can be seen in the third picture, the replacement tray does not establish that the problems with my first tray we're an aberration. While the issue of too many knots in the wood is clearly not as bad in the second tray, there are clearly visible defects in the finish such as small scratches and runs in the stain. And again, the side arms are not aligned correctly. Like the first tray I received this tray has the same good design, but the workmanship is again poor. So I applaud the seller for their efforts and desire to satisfy their customers, but in the future their efforts would be better placed in upping their quality control on the materials and workers used to put them together. I hope this helps. Thanks for reading and liking. Original review: I give the designers an A but the fabricators a D. I have a leather couch with very wide arms and this tray fits on it nicely and grips the side so that it stays pretty stable. There are rubber pieces on the bottom of the tray and the arms that grip so that the trade does not easily slide, and the arms are mounted with spring loaded hinges so they act like a hand gripping whatever you put them on. Now for the downside. As you can see in the attached pictures, the wood is loaded with knots. I have a lot of other acacia products and none of them have knots so this looks to be poor quality acacia. Also visible in the second picture is the fact that the spring arms are attached to the tray slightly unevenly. And what you can't see is that the screws holding the hinges to the wood are driven at an angle so that the heads of the screws do not lay flush into the hinges due to poor workmanship on the installation. The finish on the acacia wood is also poor. The finish is somewhat rough and feels almost like they skipped the final sanding process and put nothing on the wood to protect it. So it will function physically fairly well, but cosmetically it's disappointing. Definitely not up to the standards of any of my other acacia trays, bowls, and cutting boards. I hope this helps.
