My dog is less than two years but still has a few bugaboos. We've used a martingale collar and several harnesses, but nothing worked as well as this collar to keep her from leaping and pulling when something sets her off. Finally with this collar, she's settling down and starting to listen to me. The black (or bronze) color is great, because it's not so apparent that it's a prong collar, and the sturdy yet easy to clip and remove buckle is wonderful. This is the best prong collar I have ever used. It is sturdy, easy to remove, and doesn't become unlatched. I've owned many HM prongs and this one is the best out of all. Perfect for arthritic hands. My Belgian Malinois pup seems to find it very comfortable.

Herm Sprenger is the best prong collar out there, so I went looking to see if they had one with a Martingale-type tightening chain as well as an easy on-off clip. Yes! Of course they did! They have silver, but I wanted the Black so it would blend in with my German Shepherd's fur color. (I don't need busy-bodies noticing the prong collar.) My girl walks right up for me to put it on her, even raising her head so I can clip it under her chin. I also bought a short 8" chain connector with a clip at each end, as a security measure, so in case the prong collar comes loose, my leash is still connected to her regular collar. (I attach the connector chain one end to the Herm Sprenger prong collar near the clip, and the other end to her regular collar ring.) It's sturdy, looks good, adjustable size by adding or removing prong sections, and it works if you've been trained how to use a prong collar (it's not a steering wheel!) Good product. ... show more

Great collar maybe the links need to be the same price as the regular stainless love the black and the buckle really helps taking it off on putting it on

My Bouvier weigh's in at 150 lbs, I also us the smallest clip, which was reccomended by a professional trainer. Really work's, no pulling. The new clip release is fantastic. Easy on,easy off. Thought i'd try it in Black Beautiful. Make sure you get extra clips
