The media could not be loaded. I wanted to love this, and everything else is great, but just can't get over the lack of quality in the video resolution. This isn't like looking through a normal pair of binoculars, this is essentially a night vision camera with binocular eyepieces rather than a normal camera viewfinder. It's fun to play with, has some nice features, and at the normal unzoomed level works great, but as soon as you zoom, just like a cellphone camera zoomed all the way in, the image very quickly becomes very grainy. These things are awesome. I used them outside with the moonlight, in a pitch dark attic, and just roaming around the house. The ability to see everything in clear detail was very surprising. The range on them were quite accurate based on its capabilities listed. The controls are a bit clunky and at times it seems some of the features don't work in the options. It also is a bit clunky. The media could not be loaded. I have owned night vision goggles once before, albeit a much cheaper pair, and they were so bad they were returned to the store. Now I will be honest and say that I don't want to spend the sort of money the military does on a pair, so when I saw these I decided to risk it! What you get is: • Headset • Head mount • Charging Cable • Neck Strap • 32 GB TF/microSD • USB-C or USB-A card reader (Reads both SD and Micro-SD cards) • Cleaning Cloth • Carrying Case • Adapter • Manual At first glance this is very nicely made for the price. It is literally 1000% better than my earlier purchase. The headset is fairly lightweight and weighs 12.25 ounces or 350g. I will say at this point “Read the manual first!” I didn’t and although I got there through trial and error the possible settings available are more complex than I expected. I attached the headset to the head mount which is screwed into place. I found that I had to have the straps quite tight to hold it securely in place. Once I had got that adjusted correctly, I turned the set on. I was really quite surprised at just how well these work in complete darkness. There is a short video attached to this review which I shot in a closed off hallway with zero light bleed coming in. The door the clip opens with is around 40 feet away. PLEASE NOTE: By default, the headset is set to 960p and not the higher 1080p it is capable of for video. The screen ratio is also 4:3 rather than the 16:9 my video shows. I was also a little surprised that the video is recorded as AVI rather than in more modern formats. The quality is surprisingly good and the video I attached has been converted so that I could upload it more easily for the review. One thing I did note is that although you will have to make very few changes in focus for distance viewing you will find the need to refocus on anything that is much closer to you. I will be using this headset primarily for taking videos, but it will also take photographs. As I said above there are quite a few options and settings that can be tweaked with this headset. The IR intensity can be changed which will obviously affect the distance at which it is effective. Overall, I think this is a really nice device for the money and if you want to try night vision goggles yourself but don’t want to spend thousands of dollars this is a very good set that will let you dip your toes into the night vision waters. I've always wanted a pair of night vision goggles as we do go camping every summer. Wanting the chance to see the birds and other animals that you probably wouldn't get to see with your naked eyes, this pair really offers some great vision. We went camping a few weeks ago and I really tested these goggles during the trip. The important thing to stress is to make sure to read and understand how the goggles work before you take them on the field. This will cut down a lot of time and you can enjoy what you see. The night vision on this is amazing. I was able to view caterpillars as they slowly moved across a downed tree and another cool thing was an owl which was perched near our camp site. The recording aspect allows you to show others and you can easily watch for hours. The infrared option made me feel like I was in a movie or TV as they were so similar on what you see on shows. It's clear and concise so you could look around, adjust and watch. The goggles come with a case and are easy to pack. I've been on two quick trips with these and I am looking to enjoy other experiences as I gawk into the night with the goggles. The binoculars work like a video camera which has no auto focus but excels better at night time viewing compared to daytime. When you look through it you are looking at an LCD monitor. The top buttons is how you navigate through menus. The color video mode is not impressive compared to the quality of a modern mobile phone. The nighttime is where it does it’s best and should be the main reason for having these. You are able to record videos and photos on an included 32 MB memory card. You may view it on the device, with a USB cable or by inserting the memory card into your computer. It lacks auto focus, has digital zoom and needs 8AA batteries. The focus is done by moving a knob under the left front of the unit. If you want to look at something in the background you will have to manual adjust the focus which may be a bonus if you have something in the front which might take the focus off your subject. The digital zoom image gets grainy as you zoom in. All in all good for night time viewing. Thank you for taking the time to read my review a photos of this product.
