I cannot say enough about this machine but I'll cover my initial impression and experience with it. First off I have not owned a Direct Drive tattoo machine before and I was looking into the FAULHABER motor, family of machines in the market. One of the manufacturers out there came out with the "Wand" style machine and immediately came to look for it on Amazon. Then... The magic happened! .I stumbled upon this Hawink Short Pill and when I saw the price tag, I couldn't get my credit card out fast enough! I'm glad I did! The box it came with is very nice and definitely protects your investment. As soon as I got it in the mail, it was obvious that this tattoo machine is quality made. The box features exquisite foam protection and the machine comes in a very nice velvety travel case. The RCA cord that is included with this product, is right beneath the first layer of foam. Speaking of the RCA cable, it is very flexible and made of quality construction. The ends are very nicely insulated and the plugs are heavy duty and covered nicely. As far as the machine itself guess, it is a very lightweight item! You can easily see that the machine was CNC carved and flawless. It features a locking ratchet grip end that did not change needle grip depth while using it! Using it is very simple, comfortable and fun! I included some pictures on how to properly wrap this machine for safety. It is very important to use cartridge needles with a safety membrane! This will help liquids stay outside of the motor. This machine was quiet, easy to disassemble, and the grip when detached, can be autoclavable. Do not autoclave the motor part! A very exciting part about the motor is that it IS an original FAULHABER German motor which should last a while with proper care. I ran mine just fine with a 15 RM at 7.5 volts max. There is no "give" adjustment as this machine provides a permanent 3.5 millimeter fixed stroke and the needle bar provides a hard hitting hit of which the "give" is provides by the hardness of the needle cartridge membrane. Includes are pictures of a first session and as I mentioned, the machine is really fun to use. I hold this helps the next person thinking of buying a new machine for the shop, THIS IS IT!. IT compare with the AAA manufacturer products and this one you can actually buy without being a shop employee at a very good price. All in all , I am very happy about this product! at 59 years old, I wanted to try my hand at tattooing and didn't want to invest too much money in to a new hobby. I also didn't want to buy something that was going to fall apart. So I researched different companies as well as different tattoo machines. CNC Tattoo Machine company and their especially their Q Series of Tattoo Machines have been getting great reviews. That led me to comparing their Q line of machines. The Q2 and Q3 seem to be the same when it comes to the German FAULHABER motors and drive system. The difference between the 2 come down to their shape and price just like the Chevy Camaro and Pontiac Firebird. Same car with slight differences as well as their prices. So for me, price was the deciding factor and was able to save even more because I bought my Q3 on Prime Days! As I said, I am new to tattooing. With practice I am getting better and loving my CNC Q3 more and more! I will probably by another CNC tattoo machine in the future if my Q3 preforms as expected! ... show more

I’ve been tattooing for eight years now and I was looking for a pen machine but I wanted a shorter one. I was using a top dollar pen but I didn’t like the fact that I had to open it up to adjust the give. I wanted a machine that that line and shade without me having to switch or change anything. Before a friend told me about the Cnc short pen I was interested in another brand but they came in a set of 3 liner,shader,packer. After doing research I found out that the shader was the same motor and I could Save over $400 so I gave it a try and ordered the CNC Short Pen Q2. I loved it but it just hit a little too soft plus I’m already light handed so it wasn’t perfect for me being it had a 3.3mm stroke. But I had no problem with purchasing the CNC Pill Q3 because it had a 3.5mm stroke plus I was still under budget from not buying the wand. It has no vibration runs smooth, easy to clean, perfect for lines shading and packing all in one. It feels comfortable in your hand and it super light. I bought this machine over a year ago under the impression that it contained the Faulhaber motor as it stated in the description and in photos. Hawink/CNC then sent me a machine which contained a “Sirius” motor which is not at all what i wanted! When i reached out to them they where not willing to send the product which i thought i was purchasing… have never bought ANYTHING from CNC since because this experience told me all i need to know. ... show more

This machine is quality I've used it now for about 3 weeks and haven't picked up my fkiron xion pen, or direct spectra, or any of my bishop rotary machines since I've used this.. it is by far the most comfortable in the hand to use and which I think helps out with the quality of the tattoo because you feel like you have total control. Honestly because the price is so low I didn't have high expectations for this machine ,but really wanted to try out so I could compare, really glad I did !! Tattooing is my lively hood I take it serious ,I would definitely recommend you trying one for yourself , these are a few tattoos I've cranked out with this machine ... show more
