I recently purchased a package of Hanes Boxer Briefs with ComfortSoft Waistband shorts for my husband. He has been wearing this brand for several years, and I'm the one who does the laundry, so I am very familiar with the product. I was surprised to read in the care instructions that fabric softeners are not to be used (don't use them anymore, but that was still a surprise). What I was totally shocked by was the poor quality of the knit fabric of these shorts. I will say that the price was way too low for me to have expected otherwise, but I'd rather my husband have better quality fabric with three pairs of shorts than inferior quality fabric with six pairs. It will be a challenge to see how long these shorts will last due to their less-than-satisfactory quality (fabric, not workmanship). ... show more

They work okay (LOL). Just that the waist band is not what I was looking for in these briefs. Maybe they just stopped the original quality construction and opted for cheaper cost by reduction in attention to detail. Nothing essentially wrong with item - just you can get these at cheaper price at certain big retail outlets - you guess which one - you got it - see that was easy after all. ... show more

I've worn Hanes Boxer Briefs in this style for literal decades and these are unacceptable. They look like the former product, are shaped the same way, and priced the same. What you get is tissue-like material guaranteed not to last and elastic in the legs that fails DURING THE FIRST WEARING. My weight hasn't changed, so it's not me that's changed. Hanes has taken a staple product and a customer base grown over decades and thrown them out in favor of short term profit. If any scorched Earth Hanes exec ever gets wind of this: it worked! Once! I ordered two of this style and some of a similar style, and the fit is smaller and craftsmanship seems a little poorer than ones I've ordered every year or two. Good enough to keep, I guess. Would have been nice to get some (or all, as hoped and expected) blue ones in the 10 pieces I got, when all images in the listing were shades of blue. But all arrived in black or grey. ... show more

These are my underwear. I can’t use anything else. I love the waist band and not having a tag. I goes a bit low for my taste but no big deal. I love the different shades of blue. I also have black and grey.

Bought these for my 80 year old husband to try. He had spent years hasseling with tucking regular boxers into jeans and these looked like they would be easier. They are! And, he likes them. They don't bunch up under slacks or jeans and not binding like briefs can be at times. Not a '5 star'; not perfect but very nice. ... show more

    • Good value, but disappointing.
I purchased a size larger than usual for my husband and once they were laundered, they shrunk to the point that he is uncomfortable in them. We expected "boxer briefs" to be loose. The legs are slim and body forming.
