The media could not be loaded. As someone who grew up with pixelated video games, I was excited to try out this game console. Upon opening the package, my first impression was that the design was similar to that of an older hand-held game system that I had growing up. The screen itself is nice, and although the graphics aren't great, the screen quality is good. That being said, the games do not have graphics anywhere near what is shown in the listing. I do like that the game console allows you to use either the directional pad or the joystick when playing. I noticed that in the menu of some games that you have to use the "SEL" button (short for select) to toggle between options, such as 1-Player Game or 2-Player Game, as the directional pad and joystick won't allow you to do so. I also like the ability to display it on your TV screen as well as being able to have two players. However, in order for two people to play, you need to plug the second controller into the console itself. It plugs straight into the charging port, but the cord is no longer than 3 feet, meaning both players have to sit pretty close to one another, and it probably won't work out too well with little kids who may move a lot while playing, as I could see this getting yanked and unplugged. What I don't like is that the game console feels very lightweight and cheaply made. It feels like a cheap remake of older game console controllers, as even those felt a bit heavier and sturdier than this. I'm also not a fan of the charging port, as it requires a Mini B USB cable rather than the standard USB-C that most devices use these days. I also don't like that there isn’t a way to save your game progress, such as in Mario, the way that you could on older game consoles (otherwise you wouldn't be able to finish going through all the levels on the map, such as in Super Mario Bros. 3). This also means that your high score isn't saved the way you could with old cartridge games (you know, putting in your initials so that your high score is displayed alongside of it). Another annoyance is that you have to select the language every time you start up the console, as the options are Chinese or English. It would be nice to be able to select a language and have it default to that, rather than being prompted to select it every time you start the device. Lastly, I have mixed feelings about the battery. While I like that it doesn't use standard batteries, as I hate the waste that they cause, the rechargeable battery is like one you'd have in a phone, and I'm not sure where you'd go about replacing it if you ever needed to. Overall, I like the concept and the vast number of games it has, as well as the 2-player ability, but I think it could use some improvement in terms of product design. At $30 I would expect it to be better made than it is. ... show more

This is a nice retro lightweight gaming system. I bought it for my kids and they both love old retro games so this is perfect for that! This way when they are in the mood to play at the same time, they can still play together. When they want to do their own thing, they can share and take turns playing this game. "This is a fantastic product! We use it on car trips and I love that he doesn't use WiFi or access anything except to play games. There are really too many games - he and his brothers are always fighting over who gets the game first. Definitely a good value for the money. Ideal for elementary school children. There is a wide variety of games to keep the kids entertained. These games are perfect for holding kids' attention on long road trips. The screen resolution is very clear.
