I bought these to tack down landscape fabric. They worked. I decided to pull up the fabric after a year. While they did rust they are also still strong. I have others at a couple different spots in the garden i am leaving as is. They easily tear through thicker black plastic even with the rings.

We tore out the lawn, laid down weed barrier and spent a year hauling 44.5 yard of 2 different types of rock to the back yard AND front. We have built beautiful planters from various bricks, treated wood and landscaping stones and our yards are gorgeous now. NO MORE MOWING! Minimal weeding as we use the highly concentrated chemical to kill weeds as soon as they appear. But it all starts with really good stakes to tack down the fabric. These stakes are very sturdy. I used them to hold up a garden border that was collapsing s from soil shifting. They were able to hold up the border and sharp enough to push into and ground, even through the grassy side
