My ex and I used to play this in 2021 so I got it to play on my own. It’s really fun and there’s no issues.

Works - may not be the original, but it's the closet to the original, but it's still a great port! Way better than the "definite edition"

  • All this being said if you loved playing the game like I did when it first ...
Platform For Display: Xbox 360 Edition: Standard
Understand what your buying. The game, as so many pointed out, does have some flaws. The radio stations skip so many songs/segments. At times, the audio before the mission starts does not work properly (though I did not have too much of a problem with this and found it to work if I reloaded). When I was trying to go through the flying mission school, I had to tap A repeatedly to get to the next task or else the game would freeze on me. All this being said if you loved playing the game like I did when it first came out, I personally think it is still very much worth the money for it. If the imperfections of the game are too much for you, which I can understand why they would be, then you are going to want to take a pass. ... show more

  • Not sure what to think...
Platform For Display: Xbox 360 Edition: Standard
I bought this version in Best Buy back in 2016. I didn't know that this was a remaster, not the original, but I still had fun with it anyways on my Xbox 360. I know that original Xbox games had 360 ports, so I thought it was just that. Anyway, I bought an Xbox One X about 2 years later and put my 360 and games into storage. I lost a few games in the clutter, including this one. I was originally buying it again to play on my 360, but I remember how this one could be played on an Xbox One, and even a Series X. I've played the original San Andreas back in the late 2000s, so it just feels weird playing a mobile remaster on a console since this is basically the mobile port of the game. I own the Vice City remaster on my phone and have screen casted it to play on my TV, and it feels like I'm doing just that when I play the San Andreas remaster. Little things like the menu or loading screens, new bugs/glitches, different button layout and mechanics, all are jarring to me because it's completely different to the original. It brings me out of the immersion and reminds me that I'm not playing the original, just a mobile port. Granted, I think it looks and plays great (especially on the Series X) but I can't help but just want to play the original instead. I would've been perfectly happy if Rockstar even did a basic HD upscaling of the original for the 2014 remaster instead of this. I feel like the Vice City remaster on mobile is closer to that than the San Andreas one. The Vice City remaster doesn't look or feel too different to the original, and it looks really good with upscaled textures, but I would feel the exact same way if GTA 3 or Vice City had remasters that didn't feel like the originals. Overall, I'd recommend it if you don't like the graphics or feel of the definitive edition as this is the closest you'll get to playing the original on modern consoles. It's not bad by all means, but it feels lazy on Rockstars end that they delisted the original games for modern consoles, and that they hired mobile only developers to remaster San Andreas AND make the definitive editions since its the same developers under a new name. ... show more

  • Great but minor issues
Platform For Display: Xbox 360 Edition: Standard
I absolutely love the classic gta's like this one. This remastered version in my opinion is better than the old one. The graphics are better and there's not an old fuzzy, tan tint anymore. The format like the pause menu and etc are different which I like. The controls are slightly different and car handling, etc. But that's ok. Yeah I've been playing the original version of this so I decided to buy this one. The one difference I definetley like is how they touched up the characters. I can actually tell the characters have a face now. They also made the characters more glossy which I think is better than the old version. I just have minor issues. Sound cuts and the radio. The sound is cutting off sometimes during the cut scenes. And the radio plays songs and then stops them in the middle. Its a great remaster though. I'm so happy they added autosave and made it so you can actually retry missions from the last checkpoint. I'm very happy with my purchase. ... show more
