I first became aware of this type of whiskey glass during a high end whiskey tasting event. The event provided these glasses for us to appreciate the finer points of each different whisky. The shape helps to evaluate the "nose" and makes tasting more pleasant. They are made to be durable while looking elegant. One of the glasses actually survived a 6' fall from the cabinet. Love these glasses! I wasn't sure if Glencairn glasses would make a big difference, but I'm glad I decided to try them. They've completely changed the way I enjoy bourbon. The aroma comes through so much better, and I can really taste the different flavors in my whiskey now. These glasses are also very well-made and feel nice in your hand. I ordered these to replace one that cracked while washing in hot water. Otherwise the glasses are great and really channel the whiskey properties. Good for sipping anything of value.
