Description

Bacter AE Micro Powder adds important microorganisms, amino acids and enzymes to your aquarium. It enhances water quality and improves the development of biofilms, which are essential for shrimp. The biofilms thus created provide them with a valuable staple food rich in beneficial proteins, especially improving the survival rate of young shrimplets. In addition, live probiotic bacteria improve the nutrient uptake of the shrimp and influence their digestive processes in a positive way.The contained bacteria in Bacter AE Micro Powder cultures are activated as soon as they come into contact with water. They remove toxic substances and, together with all the other carefully fine-tuned components, they provide your aquarium with a good microclimate.Dosage (for 120 Liter)• lowly stocked: daily 1/2 measuring spoon• normally stocked: daily 1 measuring spoon• heavily stocked: twice a day 1 measuring spoonWe recommend when first using, add only half the dosage during the first week 1 measuring spoon = about 0.5gIngredientsAmino acids, polysaccarides, xylanase, glucanase, amylase, protease, hemicellulase, Bacillus subtilis, Pediococcus acidilactici (Lactobacillus)Bacter AE Micro Powder is available in a 35g or 70g box.One measuring spoon is also incl. in the box of Bacter AE Micro Powder.

  • If it works for you disregard my review
Size: 70g
I'm late writing this review. Please read my entire review before getting mad at me. The only reason I'm giving it any stars is because so many other people rave about the stuff, but I have to be honest, I saw no benefit using this product. Because so many other people swear by it I have to consider that my experience, for whatever reason(s), is rare and I don't want to lower the average score of a good product if I had an extremely rare experience. Im not trying to say there is no benefit, or that this product is bad, I'm just saying I don't see any benefit. Maybe people just see what they want to see. How could they really know if this stuff works or not? My shrimp were colorful and thriving well before, during and well after using this product. I am an extremely observant individual, I spend a lot of time just watching my shrimp tanks and can't say I noticed any improvement or difference in any regard while using it. If I understand correctly, it's supposed to help grow a biofilm that shrimp eat (particularly baby shrimp) as well as improve water conditions.. I didn't observe a noticeable increase in either regard. The only ways I could imagine people being able to observe these are if the shrimp spend more time cleaning(eating/grazing) the surface of an object before moving to another ( meaning there is more biofilm present = takes longer to eat it) , if you notice biofilm growing faster than before ( not really something you see anyway) and if there is an increase in the growth rate of your baby shrimp. I can truthfully say I didn't notice any of these and the growth rate of my baby shrimp is something I keep a very close eye on going so far as to keep detailed notes and logs in my computer ( I have bred and sold neocaridina to my LFS for years) . The bacter lasts a while, so I had time to observe the effects and after running out I never bought any more and my shrimp are doing just as good as they did before. :/ What I can say for sure is that the bacter had no adverse effects on my tank or shrimp. The price isnt unreasonable, especially if it does what it claims to do, so that's a big plus. They could easily charge a lot more for this product but instead they keep prices low which I respect. Again, I'm not saying it's a bad product, I'm not implying anyone is lying. I could very well be wrong, it's happened before :p this is just my experience. ... show more

  • My cherry shrimp went from peasants to Vikings.
Size: 70g
In an effort to improve the lives of my humdrum village of cherry shrimp, I purchased this. Within a couple weeks I noticed them starting to look swole, and watching with rapt attention, whenever I'd watch Vikings on Netflix. Soon their village became a training ground and now they are battle hardened crustaceans, feasting and singing of Valhalla every night. If you want shrimp that will make Odin proud, this is the stuff to get. ... show more

  • Good food for shrimp
Size: 70g
I am new to the shrimp keeping hobby and was worried about my shrimp not getting enough food, especially the babies so I bought this. The shrimp went crazy for it! I was also worried for my Nerite snails, I wanted to grow some biofilm quickly because I was worried it was getting rapidly depleted with my shrimp and snails in my 5 gallon and my 2 gallon betta and snail tank. The 2 gallon is a temporary, cycled, filtered tank but it got depleted of algae very quickly and this helps feed the Nerite while my 6 gallon is cycling. It's a very fine powder so you have to be careful when opening, I would suggest putting a paper under it when you 1st open it because mine spilled some immediately after the 1st opening, it even had the powder all over the bottle even though it had never been opened before and was sealed, thats how fine the powder is. You just put a small amount in the tank and it will eventually fall everywhere in the aquarium, no need to pre mix it. Don't worry if you see the powder on the top of the water, it will fall eventually. ... show more

  • Helped my shrimp tank
Size: 35 g
I have a 5-gal planted tank with cherry shrimp, ramshorn snails, and two pygmy cories. I was having problems with shrimp survival. I was feeding them sinking pellets, and even though they ate well, something was wrong. Adults would slowly die off. A few would have babies successfully, then die. The babies would grow, then start to die off. My colony wasn't thriving. All the water parameters were great, I had a consistent weekly cleaning and water change routine, and the aquarium had been established for over six months. I'm experienced in the hobby, so I wasn't killing the shrimp in any of the standard novice ways. I started using GlasGarten Bacter AE, Shrimp Fit, Mineral Junkie Pearls, and Shrimp Baby about a year ago, and now I have a thriving colony that's always reproducing, growing, and surviving. It went from 15 adults to 70+ cherries of varying ages in that time. Here's my feeding regimen: Days 1 & 4: Bacter AE, Hikari Shrimp Cuisine pellets Days 2 & 5: Shrimp Fit, Mineral Junkie Pearls Days 3 & 6: Shrimp Baby, NLS AlgaeMax pellets Day 7: water change, no food A little goes a long way with the powder foods. I dose 1/64 tsp, which is way less than the scoop that comes with the foods. I always have berried females and thriving shrimplets. Now I have so many shrimp that I moved some into my 55-gal aquarium. The four GlasGarten products I use work well together, and I highly recommend them. I started using GlasGarten products about two months ago, and now I have a thriving colony that's always reproducing, growing, and surviving. I went from 15 adults to 50+ cherries of varying ages in that time, and I haven't seen any dead shrimp. I feed GlasGarten Bacter AE every other day, Shrimp Fit twice a week, and Mineral Junkie Pearls every day. I still feed Aquatic Arts sinking pellets three times a week. I always have berried females and thriving shrimplets. Now I have so many shrimp that I'm going to transplant some of them into my 55-gal aquarium. This feeding regimen works great for my tank. The three GlasGarten products I use work well together, and I highly recommend them. ... show more
