Description

The General Tools Cordless Engraver for Metal can help homeowners protect and identify their valuable items to help prevent theft and loss. It's compact, battery-operated, and engraves safely and efficiently. Before you rev up the engraving pen and sink it into your new project, use this helpful tip: provide enough pressure to make your mark on the object and use a template to guide your work when possible. Practice various words and symbols on a material you can toss away before starting the main article. Always work on a clean surface and be mindful of taking intermittent breaks to allow the tip of this engraver to cool down. You can outline first and introduce depth into your projects. In no time, beginners can create a crafty personalized gift for a friend or family member. At General Tools, we offer over 1,000 products to choose from. We're proud to provide merchants, artisans, and DIYers worldwide with a broad range of affordable, specific-purpose mechanical hand tools and precision measuring and inspection gear.

  • Great tool
Style: Engraving Pen
Works like a charm to keep my fused glass products free of dangly bits, and worked right out of the box, batteries provided and ready to go. Very handy for what I bought it for.

  • Fantastic tool. Pro quality.
Style: Engraving Pen
What a bargain. This engraving pen is powerful, sharp and easy to use. It feels solid, like a pro tool should. It is easy to charge. I used it on a long project, engraving a design on sheet metal. I haven't recharged it yet. The diamond tip shows no signs of dulling. Easy to hold and use and incredibly sharp. Just be sure you save the tiny Allen wrench needed down the road to change bits. • Great for crafts.
Style: Engraving Pen
This thing is decent. I got it to engrave some small washers that I was making into necklaces for my nieces and daughters for Christmas. It did do the job although the bit wore out pretty quickly and sadly the replacement bits were a bit (excuse the pun) expensive. It doesn't have as much power as I expected and seems to take longer to engrave than my Dremel would. But that aside this is way easier to use than the dremel since it is so small and I have small hands. Personally It'll be used a lot here for small odd jobs and crafting. If you're looking for something heavy duty, I would say just get a dremel. If you just need it for odd jobs and crafts this will work just fine, just expect to work a little slower than you would with a dremel. Also, it is not compatible with the dremel bits and I did make the mistake of buying the wrong replacement bits. You have to read the product info and buy the correct bit for this specific engraver. It does not use the universal sized bits. ... show more

  • So easy to use

I bought this to engrave some award medals and it worked great. It was easy to control and made a nice etching.

  • Hard to handle vibrates

  • Worked well, easy to use
Style: Engraving Pen
Engraver did what I needed well, which was marking some tools with my name for work. It takes a little practice to get the engraving looking good so it’s a good idea to try it out on something you don’t care about first.

  • Don't bother
Style: Engraving Pen
I was truly hoping this would work. All I want to do is mark some of my tools, (no big job). I opened this when it came. The packaging has absolutely NO instructions (although you would think it is fairly intuitive), and there was no convenient words of wisdom. I put the batteries in the engraver, pressed the button and the entire bit assembly fell out. Of course, I went ah-hah, the bit must not be tightened down, so I took the allen wrench, and tightened the "diamond" bit and turned it on. Now, I'm no Mike Tyson, but I do know how to tighten a drill bit, and can do so with good results. That ain't the problem, the entire bit assembly fell apart, and the bit just rotates with the assembly, making it impossible to engrave, unless you are going to take a pair of pliers and drag the bit across the piece....... good luck and buyer beware ... show more
