After purchasing a foreclosed home I needed an inexpensive set of mirrors for the bath due to the fact the original mirrors had been removed. I ordered 2x of the Bleu wall mirrors and they are absolutely perfect! The hand polished edges and the hardware mounting equipment are all awesome and exceptional quality. The price point for these mirrors a great value. To install the mirrors you need a drill, phillips screwdriver, a rubber mallet and a person to help (the mirrors are kind of heavy). The hardware comes with the small tool to tighten the brackets once you have them on the wall. The installation instructions are printed on the outside of the box so make sure you take a picture of it or write it down before putting the box out for recycling because no other instructions are included. I'm guessing you can find the instruction on the company website but if you are somewhat handy with tools you should be fine. Make sure you have a level! These mirrors "float" on the wall so they stand out from the wall about 2" but it gives them a great effect. I'm guessing you could buy some different hardware if you wanted to flush mount them or use liquid nails (not a good option, but for a flat mount it should work). The manufacture makes other items to match the hardware but you could easily match it with towel holders etc from your local big box store. Enjoy! ... show more

    • Go slow and find the wall studs first!

The mirror looks very nice in our remodeled guest bath. It fits the décor of satin nickel that we chose. First off, the hardware is beautiful quality. You can feel it in the mass of the parts. No cheap pot metal here. Finish is flawless! Now why I only gave it 4 stars. The mounting hardware can be a problem, a big one if you are not technically inclined. You HAVE TO FIND THE WALL STUDS BEFORE YOU TRY AND SET THE ANCHORS! If there are wall studs behind any of the spots where you are planning to put a mount, STOP AND DO NOT USE the supplied anchors or move the mounts to a spot at least 3/4" from any wall stud. If you try and use the anchors in a wall stud you will end up pulling the anchor into the drywall and the mounting stud will no longer be long enough to support the mirror mount. If the anchor is off to the side of but is too close to a wall stud then the anchor, when expanded, will kick to one side. This will make the mounting stud sit at an angle and not allow for the mirror mount to work. I found out about the above the hard way. Here's what I did. I found that I had two wall studs spaced 14.5" on center. The 14.5" spacing's centerline fell just a 1/4" to the right of the vanity's centerline. I shifted the wall stud spacing to the left a 1/4" and marked for two holes. Checked level, drilled each with a 1/16" bit, and found I had hit the wall stud on each side. Measured up 30", checked level, and drilled each with the 1/16" bit, and again found I had hit the studs. From there I used a 2.5" gold screw (looks like a drywall screw but it's gold colored and much stronger) to attach the wall stud. They sat nice and flush to the wall and were close enough to perpendicular to allow easy mounting of the mirror mounts. I could have also moved the anchors to a spot that wasn't on/near a wall stud. Since I had already put them in and tightened them down I was up poop creek. Once in the anchors were never coming out so I had to, luckily, use the existing wall studs. ... show more

We purchased and installed two of the Gatco 1522 Large Fixed Mount Decor Mirror, in the Satin Nickel finish. I had read how painstakingly difficult it was to measure and install the mirrors. Well I figured out an easy way to make a template for the wall bracket positions for the mirror. Step 1. Assemble the mirror fully as per instructions. Step 2. Using one side of the box the mirror came in, cut off one large side of the box, so you have a nice big flat piece of card board. Step 3. Place the mirror with the brackets resting down on the cardboard, as if the card board was the wall and trace out the bracket locations just as you would on the wall, as per the manufacturers instructions. Step 4. Then with a razor knife carefully cut out holes in the cardboard where the brackets are located on the cardboard. I outlined and placed a center line on my template so I could easily center the mirror on my light fixture and faucet. (See my photo for a visual aid.) Step 5. Use your new handy dandy cardboard template to trace the bracket locations on your wall. (use a mechanical pencil for this step, the marks easily cleanup with a Mr Clean magic eraser). Once you have your wall marks, continue with the manufacturers installation instructions for marking the wall cleat locations and hanging the mirror. I would suggest using a lazer level like I did if you are installing a pair of mirrors so they are exactly the same height and level. It took me an hour and a half to hang our pair of mirrors with my wifes help. This is a two person job, one person needs to hold the mirror in place while the other person tightens the set screws that hold the bracket to the cleats. The mirrors look very modern and they are very sturdy. The supplied toggle bolts are good quality and hold the mirror very securely. We are very satisfied with this product. ... show more

    • INSTALLATION NIGHTMARE

I can't even count how many mirrors I have installed in my lifetime. Still, I enlisted the help of my HIGHLY meticulous son to help as it was obviously a two person job. We measured twice before drilling once...did all our due diligence before installing the wall anchors but to no avail. This mirror is so unnecessarily difficult to get right considering that inclusion of a paper template would have made it a breeze. If you're going to print the directions on the box (mine was scuffed beyond readability on one box but I had ordered two mirrors so I did have Gatco's directions to follow) why not just print a template on the box???? Once those anchors are installed, it's not like you can shift them 1/4 of an inch! It's such a shame because the mirrors themselves are very nice and exactly what I was looking for. Now they are going back and I have 8 big metal anchors in my freshly painted wall. Patching and repainting is not a project I really wanted or needed. ... show more
