  • Solid chainsaw for consumer use
This Chinese-manufactured GTHAN-branded 20" 60cc chainsaw is an excellent product. Frankly, I can't figure out how they can make money fabricating and assembling this power tool and shipping it to an Amazon warehouse and then onto the U.S. customer, all for $140. The comparable German-branded Stihl product is the MS 271 available at Ace for $500, which is assembled in Virginia from what are likely Chinese-fabricated parts. I have a very limited need for a gasoline-powered chainsaw, so I took a chance on this one. The product packaging is minimalist, as one would expect. The kit comes with the drive unit, the chain, the brake, the blade, tools, a gas/additive mixer, funnel, two sets of directions, and a few miscellaneous items. Fuel, chain lubricant, and additive are not provided. PROS: the tool is simple to assemble and the directions are thorough. The tool started easily within a couple pulls after priming the engine. Cutting through 18" bore logs was no problem. The 3-ply chain is kink-resistant and durable, and resists de-tracking when the blade is bound. Build quality of the tool was reasonable at this price point. CONS: hardly any. The drivetrain binds easily if the blade is pinched--but this may be true of the 50cc MS 271, with which I have no experience, and occurs at some point with every other chainsaw I have used. The fitment of the bumper spike to the pot metal bottom chassis is not the greatest--but I was able to force it on. Other reviewers have noted that the chain lubrication assembly leaks when not in use--but show me the chainsaw that doesn't do the same. OVERALL: a great value for consumer use and seems that it would be adequate of light commercial use. ... show more

  • This brand Works very Well
We use the saw for cutting trees down and then into easily movable pieces. We have 5 acres, very heavily overgrown, to clear. A lot of work is involved and a working chain saw is a necessity. I own 3 of the exact same saw. Chain stretch is routine normal. Gas consumed for say one hour is no different than other 20 inch saws. The chain oiler seems to leak when not in use. I have learned to refill the oil tank only to certain points so that when I am done the tank is near dry. We cut trees as far up as 24 inches in diameter. Yes, tricky and not necessarily safe but the saw handles the task with no issues. For the price you will get excellent use and YES! I was amazed. ... show more

  • Can't get the junk to start
I bought this price of crap back last year didn't use or put together. Finally put it together no problem easy assemble. I have went by instructions trying to get start and even my father which has used chainsaws all his life try to crank it. Will not crank. I've seen offer reviews I guess it's either hit or miss. I wouldn't recommend it's china junk. I took the old Stihl boss m290 that been sitting for ten years haven't been used change gas put new bar oil in gave a few pulls cranked right up. Ran like a charm after crank restart 1 pull. I will take this to mechanic see if can get it to run if cost a lot to fix will throw in garbage where it belongs. ... show more

  • Works like it should.
I bought this for my haunted house. I did not put the chain on it. So I can't attest to its capability of cutting would. It did however. Start right up and perform as it should. I assume with a good chain, it would cut like a stihl.

  • Easy start, plenty of power
I like the weight and balance of the saw. It isn’t a Stihl or Husqvarna but it cuts well. Definitely not a commercial grade unit based on the plastics. The 20:1 recommended mixture ratio is disappointing (first 20-hours) due to the expense of the 2-stroke oil. All in all. For one-third the price of the equivalent Stihl or Husky, this saw is a pretty good bargain. ... show more

  • Quit searching just get it
Got it today put it together added gas and chain oil and went to town cutting my logs in the back yard. Started on the 6th pull by the way it’s the easy pull style . After that it started on a single pull . Had to tighten chain one time as expected it’s a new chain . It came with tools to assemble and even a chainsaw file in a little carry bag . I’m really impressed with this one. It’s a beast went through 12”16” even 18” wood like butter. I’m mad at myself that I didn’t get this before when I first looked at it. I fought with 2 other chain saws for a month to get a big job done in the front yard. I wish I had this one then. Like I said just get it whatever the reviews are . I sometimes feel competition somehow says bad things about others product. I’m not paid for this review I’m just trying to help someone to stop looking. If your like me your driving yourself crazy trying to find the best deal. This is it. I bought the 15.00 insurance because it’s Chinese and I was not sure but it’s really good. Ok I’m done. ... show more

  • Cut a 4' round 80' tall oak tree in a day.
I bought this to use on one tree in my yard and didn't expect it to make it through the tree. Not only did it eat that tree up but never stalled or have me one ounce of trouble. Keep the oil full on the bar and she'll run like a charm. I am sure it will serve me a good year if I keep it maintained. If your sceptical I understood, but for your money your not going to be disappointed. ... show more
