Am 66 yrs old and have been baffled all these years on how to disguard old used cooking oil. I've asked old friends & they tell me they just throw it in their regular trash & that really bothered me. I've thrown oil over decorative rocks surrounding my home, problem is, it draws the creepy critters roaming in the night, having a field day throwing the rocks off to the side to get down to the dirty nitty gritty beneath making a mess then have the nerve to poop all around my home. Finally put in search engine question of how to properly dispose & friends were right. Suppose to put in glass or plastic container with lid & toss in your trash. Still did not like that idea & found Fry Away as an option. Had shrimp grease sitting on stove top since June 23rd & on Aug 27th used this product according to instructions & was thrilled to change from liquid to a lard like consistency. Was solidified within less than 30 minutes. Used again after making 3 meatloaves at once. Poured all grease into 1 pan and worked again perfectly. Excellent product. I live in an RV so I thought this product would be perfect for grease disposal. 6 small packets per bag. If you have much grease (pound of hamburger) it doesn't solidify, it kinda turns to mud. At $10 (?) a bag that is about $2 a pack. Just did not work well enough to justify the cost.

It does exactly what it says it does, works perfectly. I have 0 complaints, but there are things I do want to mention because I didn't know these going into it: - (This one might be a "me" issue) You may need more packets than you think. I thought I was only cooking with x amount of oil, and thought I only needed 2 packets, but I ended up needing all 4. I measure my oil by what my ancestors tell me, so quantifying measurements isn't my strong suit lol - BE PATIENT. You mix in the Fry Away, and then leave it alone. You're not gonna watch the magic happen in minutes. It takes time to congeal. The amount you'd give the oil to cool is about the amount of time it needs to solidify the oil.
