I love my Frownies! I have been using them for about a year now and the results have been great! I have a single line- is this called a 1 instead of 11’s? And it has vanished. Plus my forehead is so smooth! If you have never used them before, consistence is key. They aren’t going to magically erase your wrinkles in 5 days. They also have a smell that is kinda strange, but I don’t notice it anymore. At first they were a little strange/uncomfortable to sleep in, but stick with it. I have a hard time sleeping without them now because I can feel myself frowning at night 🤣. Try to wear them as long as possible, either put them on early in the night, or if possible leave them on until 11 am. To put them on, I run water over my hand and use the water leftover on my finger to wet them, let them sit for 20 seconds and then apply. Super sticky and they won’t move. They are really easy to get off, and have never caused any skin irritation. I have them on subscribe and save so I never run out! ... show more

    • The good, the bad and the smelly
Thoughts after using for 3 weeks: The main reason I bought these was to prevent wrinkles while I’m sleeping. I’m 38 and haven’t used any patches or tape on my face before but started noticing the 11’s were a lot worse when I wake up in the morning. I wanted to try some kind of tape or patches to use to prevent that. I wanted something clean and natural that wouldn’t irritate my skin. These definitely do work for preventing wrinkles while sleeping. My forehead looks so smooth and soft after I remove them in the morning. By the end of the day my forehead lines and 11’s are noticeable again though and so far I’m not seeing a difference. I will give it more time and see. I don’t think it helps to train me to not to use my forehead muscles unless I were to wear them during the day when I’m actually making those expressions. -The adhesive doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin which is awesome. I’ve had a history of sensitive skin and always a little nervous to try new products. -It doesn’t really stop you from using those muscles like I’ve seen them claim. I can still make the same expressions while they’re on, it’s just not creating the wrinkles and creases because your skin is held in place. I do think it helps to not make those expressions but you can still do it. -They smell funky to me but I am getting used to it. I don’t know what it is but it smells slightly sweet but kind of sour and weird. It’s hard to describe. It doesn’t smell like chemicals or perfume or anything, just strange. -They are a little annoying to apply and takes some time and feels tedious. They stick well and I’ve never had issues with them not staying on but I make sure I wait after applying face oil and then I wipe any excess before applying. I lightly spray them with rose water and then rub it around with my finger until it becomes tacky. You can also spray it a little heavier and wait for it to curl up as the instructions state, either way works fine. -I noticed that if I apply them too low (right above my eyebrows) I inadvertently kept using my forehead muscles to lift them up away from my eyes when I was lying in bed reading or on my phone. I noticed tension and fatigue in my forehead so I apply them a little higher and it resolved that. Hard to describe, might just be me. -It’s much easier to peel them off slowly rather than using water to remove. If you use water it gets messy and the adhesive gets all over your skin. I just slowly peel them off in the morning. It was kind of painful at first but now it doesn’t feel like anything. -One package of these lasted about 3 weeks. I wish they lasted longer. I wish I could find something like this for my chest since I’m a side sleeper. I wake up with lots of creases and wrinkles on my chest. I wish there were a tape option with non toxic adhesive like this. I’ve been looking into KT tape but I’m concerned about the adhesives they use. I’m a frequent Botox user. It’s not fair to compare to something as strong as Botox but it compares!! This product is amazing. Yes it smells funky but you don’t notice the smell when you’re asleep. Use the tiniest drop of water and that’s enough! More than a drop of water is too much and the product wont work. There’s a YouTube tutorial from the brand itself if you need more guidance. The only issue I had was wearing the same patches for approximately 14 hours long? That’s definitely too long and yes my skin got itchy after that.     • Mixed Feelings from a 25 Year Old Dermatology Assistant
About me: I’m a very facially expressive 25 year old with the genetic predisposition for all the fine lines and wrinkles. Currently my forehead and frown lines are the most prominent and are starting to linger there for the majority of the day. They don’t bother me much and my goal for this product was the prevention of the lines deepening over time and becoming more permanent. Because I work in dermatology I’ve been privy to trying Botox on my 11s as it’s one of the recommended preventative treatments for fine lines and wrinkles. About the product: This product has an application learning curve. The glue is sticky and smells of peppermint and applying these patches is kind of messy. I watched their tutorial that said to create a “cast” for your forehead with these things. This “cast” is uncomfortable and itchy and I’ve woken up at 4am a few times literally itching to take this cast off. I also personally hate tearing these little things along the perforated lines because they do rip apart and they do fly all over the place and it just annoys me. Results: After a week of wearing these overnight my forehead feels dryer. I let my normal moisturizer to absorb before applying these and I used oil to moisturize after removing them. I appreciate that these didn’t cause any breakouts as my skin is sensitive and acne prone. Nonetheless, my fine lines and wrinkles reappear within a few hours of removing the patches in the morning. I think that these are not so much for ironing out the fine lines/wrinkles but for reminding yourself to stop moving your forehead. I think regular tape (or surgical tape) can do the same thing for a fraction of the price and an easier application process. Comparing to Botox: I used 6 patches a day. So 144 patches would last me 24 days (I don’t particularly believe that wearing these 3 times a week would do anything…I think these should be worn daily for consistent results). Botox for 5 months in the 11s would cost a 25 year old about $100 (ask to be charged per unit of Botox not per area…it’s usually cheaper for younger folks than laying “per area”). 5 month supply of these would add up to be $125. So for a similar price you can skip the application time and the discomfort and just get Botox with similar results. I COULD STILL MOVE MY FOREHEAD WITH THE FROWNIE “CAST”. You physically cannot move most of your forehead with a Botox injection in the 11s region. Once the Botox starts to wear off, your muscles need to “remember” how to move which is the effect that these patches are trying to emulate. Disclaimer: Always talk to your medical professional about whether or not Botox is right for you. I experienced headaches and discomfort with Botox, which is why I tried these patches in the first place. There are other neurotoxins on the market that have different results and different side effects. I think this summer I will try Dysport or Jeuveau instead, but these patches are a waste of money and time in my opinion unless they work differently for older people. ... show more
