My review of this product is mixed. At best, given my reasons below, this is a 4 star product. Foxwell makes many scanners, and to understand the differences and capabilities of each in comparison is a daunting process. The different models offered, their on-board database, their ability to clear codes (ABS, Airbag, CAS, CAN, O2, EVP) seems somewhat arbitrary and not specific. One product costs $X, clears only Y and Z, while another product of theirs costs $X and does it all except has no vehicle database ($$ extra per each vehicle). This product does presumably everything, including Airbag and ABS, has a graphing Live monitor (RPM, Coolant, etc), has a fantastic database of vehicles, clears practically all codes, but won't do a few select things (see reviews) and costs hundreds less than other models from the same manufacturer (?!?) All that said- If you've settled on Foxwell, I suggest you visit the manufactures website first, see the myriad of similar units and compare what they do before you settle on a unit. After researching, I suspect that random Chinese factory #45 cranks out the chips/cases and under various brands augments the software and sells the unit under different names. The product operates as expected based on what the industry considers a scanner to actually do. It has frills that you will have to decide are worth the extra $'s. The price of this product is in the mid to high price range for products that offer similar abilities - expect to pay $40 to $700 for something that does the same thing. -The description at my time of purchase stated it was OBDI (one) compliant...it is NOT. This was the reason of my purchase, as a multi-tool, multi-vehicle Scanner was desired, and thus had to be returned as it did not perform as advertised. (-2 stars) -The necessary upgrade/update isn't really necessary for our unit. After blowing the dust off a windows laptop to generate the necessary internet connection with a windows machine (required, -1 star), I had to log on, create an account (account = tracking), download a file (Zzzzz), unpack the file (Zzzzz), connect the device, update the device (Zzzzzz), only to find out there were no updates needed. -The OBD cable is long and unnecessarily bulky. It has a retro-computer serial connector on the scanner side, and an OBD connector molded to the cable on the other. It's unusually heavy, and will pull out from the vehicle OBD port with minimal movement if not careful. My order shipped with: -Attractive rugged ABS case -LARGE/Long OBD2 cable with serial connector -USB PC (Only) connector for updates and power on testing -SD card (proprietary to the unit, and SD slot also needed for update/analysis) -CD/Info booklet The graphing capabilities and on-board software are very good. Testing with the engine running permits the operator to watch live data such as coolant temp, O2 operation, RPM, Voltage, etc...these can be stored on the SD card for playback). The amount of vehicles stored onboard is excellent compared to other devices. Other Foxwell products require purchase of vehicles code list (as an upgrade to the software), while this unit does the same thing as their other models and costs less. (?!?) The ability to clear ABS codes and Airbag codes is significant, but BEWARE, as with other functions, this varies by vehicle and manufacturer...for what ever reason, some specific vehicles are not part of the database "but we will be adding more soon" (see other reviews). The manufacturer requests you contact them for specific vehicles, and this process isn't quick...my requests took over a week. Tested: -2014 Acura MDX (All codes checked, live graphing, CAN and OBDII OK) -2015 Honda CR-V (All codes checked, live graphing, CAN and OBDII OK) -2007 Dodge Ram 1500 (All codes checked, live graphing, CAN and OBDII OK) -2018 Honda Fit (All codes checked, live graphing, CAN and OBDII OK) -2005 Acura MDX (All codes checked, live graphing, CAN and OBDII OK) -1993 Mazda MX-3 (Mazda OBD1 Cable conversion used, no codes available, unit stalled, using OBDII menu as instructed by Manufacturer) -1995 Honda Del Sol (Honda OBD1 Cable conversion used, no codes available, unit stalled, using OBDII menu as instructed by Manufacturer) -1989 Honda Civic (Honda OBD1 Cable conversion used, no codes available, unit stalled, using OBDII menu as instructed by Manufacturer) The unit can also be used while operating the vehicle (with an observer using the equipment of course!), and live driving conditions can be graphed, noted. Ultimately we own other scanners that are $100's cheaper and perform basically the same functions. Odds are that if you are in need of an engine analyzer for graphing and tuning, you probably have or want a more expensive unit. For the average user, these extra functions are subjective, and probably not worth the $'s, and ultimately are a novelty not a necessity. Take the time to contact the manufacturer (as we did to verify the OBD1 capability, only to find out that the cars we wanted to test were not included) to make sure the car you want to use this product on is compatible with this unit, already in the database, and will perform the test you specifically need, ALL BEFORE you purchase! ... show more

I was able to read and clear the SRS light on a 2003 Mercedes w203 without much fuss. Hardest part was typing in the VIN number. Unit told me it was the left front side airbag. I happened to know this airbag was removed during some service on this door. Battery was unplugged at the time, but it still threw a code. I also used it to read and clear an engine code on my 2000 BMW E39 M5. Only negative was getting the application to register. The provided software on CD was giving me a "Network Error" when trying to register a new account. I was able to find a new version of the FoxScanner software on the Foxwell Tech website. I searched for the scanner number, then went to the product page where I found the newest software. After installing that, I was able to register and update the scanner SD card without issue. ... show more

I all ready have 2 OBD2 scan tools but I needed to reed the codes for an ABS problem. This Foxwell NT630 Pro says it does ASB codes but I have not been able to get it to do that. It will read the standard OBD2 codes but when I try to read the ABS codes it says "The Vehicle Program Is Not Authorized. Please obtain the authorization" After searching the web and watching a bunch of youtube videos I saw some people suggesting you could download an update to fix this. You go to a website and have to make an account then download a program but the program is windows only mac users are out of luck. I use a friends windows computer and the program starts to update the memory card and it takes hours. It takes so long we leave the computer running overnight. The next day it is done with downloading the updates. It still does not work. The Vehicle Program Is Not Authorized. Please obtain the authorization Even if all you need is OBD2 codes I would suggest going elsewhere my other less expensive OBD2 reader is much faster at downloading codes. ... show more

This is a well made hand held, with rising cost and lack of creditablty in shops today, I removed a seat to replace carpet in my 2007 cobra which set airbag light off. The cost to have that reset was $300.00, I didn't even read the directions, booted it up scanned it reset it. Just for fun checked all my cars found to other problems that I verified were problems with Auto Zone and corrected them, very house hold should have one , more than played for it's self the first hour I had it ... ... show more

    • Don't waste your time or UPS's
There is no relevant documentation, pictures look nothing like device in the pdf. The app you down load is a service ticket manager which indicates a primary problem is usage and problems and not real support. User interface is like a Doom II level 7 magic key hunt. I have been developing applications for 45 years and using virtually every type of instrument as an ElecEng, this is with out a doubt the worst device I have ever seen, and the bottom of the barrel 'support' is just the worst. Save the UPS guy some time and find one that does not try to be a GameBoy. ... show more

    • Useless for American made cars with ABS/Airbag! Very Disappointed.
Like others, I have OBDII readers, bought this specifically for the airbag and ABS functions. It read the OBDII codes, no problem. It cannot communicate with the Airbag/ABS system even though I kept everything the same and just started the ABS function. If you have an import it will read your VIN, if not, you have to choose your year, make, (2012 Chevy) then pick from a list of 9 letters - no joke - single letters some have model names others don't, you are left to guess which one to use. After over half an hour, and trying all the letters it still won't read my 2012 Chevy. The manual is worse than useless, there is NOTHING on the ABS/airbag function! No codes, no how to use, NOTHING. Went on line, did all of the updates, no luck. Sent an e-mail to support, they want my VIN and serial number of the scanner. Was crazy enough to send it, 48 hours later still waiting for a response.
