Sturdy for a small folding stool and when you open it it clicks in so it won't shake loose and drop you on the floor. I needed something very compact I could fold out of the way to use in narrow areas where people walk through. This is perfect. To fold it, you have to tug the metal loop out and then pull on the leg (pull it toward you). Turning it upside-down and putting a toe on it helps. Once you figure it out it's not so baffling as it is the first time. Sturdier than any folding stool I've had in the past. The seat is hard, will give you a sore butt, but I bought some thick 12" bar stool covers (with elastic to hold it on) that fit perfectly so I can sit comfortably for longer periods. My wife had a pair of these with faux wood grain and at some point we either loaned them out and never got them back or I accidentally tossed them in a donation center bag. Regardless, I figured it would make for a nice Christmas gift for the wife to replace them since she likes them. These have a gray/blue colored seat and silver metal throughout. I gave them a brief test trial and they were stable with my 187 pounds. I am a bit heavy right now so when I lose the 9 or 10 holiday pounds I will be taking it even easier on them. They look well made and are pleasing to the eye. They look really nice and I love the fold-down factor and small footprint. One side of the top was bent and another area had a dent in it. I like the stool and since I didn't pat full price and I will be using it in my garage I will keep it but it should have been packaged better.
