The product description implies this is cork on a wood backing; it is an ultra thin layer of cork glued on to a fiber board (photo 1). The short edges are exposed and vertically cut, and the long edges rounded. That was ok for us because we fitted it into a space where the short edges can't be seen. It comes with 6x2 square double sided tabs (photo 2). The 36" long board itself was slightly curved likely due to transportation, so I placed the tabs along the two long sides, with uneven spacing to hold the center back against the wall better. Starting from the ends in that meant spacings of 8", then 7" and a center spacing of 6". ... show more

Was happy to find this. Hung it in a slim vertical place in the kitchen so I can take all the stuff and magnets off the fridge. I had to cut couple inches off for perfect fit, that was easy. I didn’t try the adhesive strips but it was easy to attach a wire on the back and hang it like a painting. It’s a good price and size was what I needed. The board looks great as you can see. Most inexpensive wall mounted products come with insufficient mounting ware so I always read reviews and prepare to supplement. I used 8 Velcro paired Command strips. I screwed each to the board because once they lift they take the paper backing with them! Careful of screw length! Then I attached it to the wall using a level to guide me. The board is slightly bowed so it’s important to use strong mounting ware. Save the adhesive strips it comes with, for another project. The cork is indeed a thin veneer on particle cardboard, but it’s perfect of you don’t plan to switch much out. We LOVE it because the size is perfect. :) ... show more

I’m using this behind a dartboard attached to a door. It is the perfect size for the door and the thickness is good to not allow darts through it. The price is right and the quality is good.

    • After all it is a cork board
The adhesive was kinda blah to be honest it will stick to the cork board great but wouldn’t stick to my wall, so I thought I’d stick it to my wall then the cork board to it, well that worked but I didn’t notice the slight bow in the cork board so when it popped lose it damaged the cork board not my wall thank heavens. I gave it three stars because it’s a cork board, you really can’t expect much from a cork board ... show more

This is not a cork board or a cork panel. It is 1mm or less thickness of flimsy flaky cork lightly adhered to a soft fiber board panel. The bizarrely thin cork on the one I got is crumbling and flaking off the edges and corners which is pretty displeasing to look at. I don't possess the motivation to mail it back for a refund.
