It actually fits your leg really well. Comes with a phone and tablet velcro mount. I also took my basic kneeboard and put velcro on the back of it to make it more versitile. Absolutely recommend, especially if you'll be taking lots of cross countries and IFR flights.

I originally ordered the larger size because I wasn’t paying attention to the fact that the small was made for the iPad mini 6. I found out my mistake when I tried affixing the mini into the knee board but the grippers were larger than the device. At this time I had yet to receive my protective case so I didn’t consider that when I ordered the small size as a replacement. By the time the small came in, I had the iPad in the case and it wouldn’t fit at all! Luckily I had yet to return the larger size, which is the one I’ll be keeping. If you get the mini iPad but have a thick case, the regular size knee board may be more appropriate for you. ... show more

    • Nice kneeboard but...
The slim profile of this kneeboard provides better separation between the yolk and the pilots leg and it seems to be built well. The biggest problem I see is with the leg strap, it's way too long, by the time it snugs up around your leg there's no velcro left to attach it and it folds under the side pocket causing the pocket to push out. ... show more

Purchased for flight school. We really liked how it had the bands on each corner to hold the ipad in place providing more security for the item to stay on the kneeboard. overall it has worked great for what we purchased the item for. The pocket on the side that folds down to hold paper or phones is also handy. We were able to use this with a case on the ipad as well. ... show more

    • Definitely not cockpit friendly. Stick to something simpler.
Bought this for my PPL-CFI training. Realistically unusable in the plane. It’s bulky and gets in the way of the yoke whether you fly pipers, Cessnas, etc. You should spend less money on something simpler than this. Like just an iPad strap to your leg and a notebook. Thats mostly what I carry on me and I’m an employed CFI/CFII/MEI. Less is more in the flight deck. Overpriced as well for the quality you get. Don’t pay more than $10 for this imo. ... show more

    • Excellent quality.
I ended up returning it for their slightly more fancier knee-board. Otherwise, this is an excellent setup. I really liked the side pocket that was held open on the side for pens, notes etc. I actually kind of wish that feature was on the other one. Otherwise, I highly recommend.
