Features

  • Large Capacity Designmany consumers have reported that wood is too large to handle well,so we have developed wood splitter with wider and longer dimensions that can accommodate larger wood and there is no chance of firewood getting stuck. The overall size of the Firewood Splitter is 370 x 250 x 240mm and the splitter body height is 370mm.
  • High Hardness SteelThis kindling splitter is made of extremely durable steel and annealed heat treatment process. Our log splitter can bear heavy loads without breaking, thanks to its high strength and shock resistance.Plus, it's lighter than cast iron and finished with an anti-rust black coating for better rust prevention.
  • Superior SafetyNo need for a dangerous axe, you can simply place a piece of firewood on the blade part of the log splitter and hit it with a hammer to easily split the wood. The firewood splitter does not have a sharp blade, which greatly reduces the risk factor when splitting firewood. The upper safety ring traps the split wood to prevent the danger of flying. Don't worry about the firewood smashing the shin.Note: (Do not install the base facing inward, the base is facing outward)
  • Stable Structural Design This kindling wood cracker has no weld, not easy to break. By using a stable mechanical structure, the log splitter greatly improves the structural strength and can withstand stronger impact. The broad base that aids in keeping the kindling splitter in position. And the reserved 4 mounting holes on each end allow the log splitter to be mounted on a stump for double stability when using the kindling splitter.
  • Multiple UsesThe wood splitter is not only perfect for your backyard stack of firewood, but also is handy for camping, fireplace, wood stoves, pizza oven, sauna, barbecue, etc.

  • Quick splitting
We camp every weekend and this splitter has got so much use!! It's so easy to split wood with a small maul. The wide opening allows a larger log than the last splitter we had. By putting a log in the splitter and giving it a few pounds of a hatchet or maul, it forces the log down onto the blade, splitting the wood. We put the log through several times to create kindling for our campfire. This splitter is so easy to use and safe, we allow our grandson to use it. He thinks it's great fun and not work at all. ... show more

  • Amazing But Only Under Ideal Conditions
In the box you get all of the components needed to build the wood splitter, along with an instruction manual. Putting it together is very easy and all of the hardware needed to do so is included. I go camping a lot and like to bring my own firewood if possible. I’ve been splitting wood behind my house, but have never had a good setup for it. I was drawn to this product because of the safety aspect. Despite measuring true to the dimensions shown on the product page, the splitter felt a bit small when I first got it. My first use of it didn’t go well. I had sections of a branch that were each about 5” in diameter. They were a few months old, so not exactly seasoned, and would be a challenge to split. I still thought it would be a good test for this product. The splitter literally buckled under pressure, with the blade insert coming out of its joint (see attached image). After putting it back together again, and using easier wood, I was able to get the wood to split, and it was fun to use. But I noticed some play in the blade, and after one session, the bolts that hold the blade on came loose again. When these get loose, the center blade can pop out again, which is a big problem. The black paint started to flake off after the second use too. This is not a tool you buy for aesthetics, but I still felt that it was worth noting. I plan to continue using it, but I don’t think it will last me for many years like I was hoping it would. I do feel confident that if you only used it for perfectly sized and well seasoned firewood, then it would perform well and last for a while. But I end up splitting whatever I can find in the woods or pick up after a tree service comes through an area. I love this idea, and think this is a pretty good product, but feel that it needs a new iteration. The bolts need to be more rugged so that they don’t come loose from an average use. The blade itself needs to have beefier side mounts so that it doesn’t pop out so easily from a big hit. I still like this product enough to not ding it too much (pun intended), so I’m going with 4 stars ... show more

  • The blade constantly pops out no matter how tight everything is screwed in.
I was hopeful about this splitter but after using it for a first time, I decided that it’s nothing more than junk. The blade constantly pops out no matter how tight everything is screwed in.

  • Requires retightening of Assembly, otherwise great
Super easy to snap together, seems to be standing up to the limited wood splitting I've put it through. Does require retightening of the screws. Not a deal breaker by any means, super easy to accomplish.

  • Works well for splitting kindling
The media could not be loaded. As a wood burner kindling is always needed to start the fire. Up until now I used a Fiskar 17" axe. That changed today. I got the Fitinhot kindling splitter and now the axe could be retired. I wanted to see if the cast iron look was just a finish or if it was real. The splitting edge has pieces welded to it so I was curious. So I gave the cutting edge a little bit sharper edge even though I don't think it was needed. It's just paint or powder coating. Once a few pieces of wood were split the paint would have worn off. I actually like that it's steel. I made a video using my kindling axe. It's red maple that's been dried for about a year now. It was knot free but I did split one peace with a small knot. It's not easily going to split pieces with larger knots. I was worried that the piece of wood would flop over before it could be split. But a tap or two on the end of the wood and the blade sets itself into the wood and it stands up. I think hammer size sledge might work easier. It would allow you to kneel while splitting. I'll try that soon. In my video none of the hits were very hard. Over all I would say it's about 1/4 of the force needed compared to the axe. ... show more
