Description

The boys of Kings Row head to France with exes, rivalries, and secrets in this fun and hilarious novel by a New York Times bestselling author—inspired by the award-nominated comic series by C.S. Pacat and Johanna The Mad. The boys of Kings Row are off to a training camp in Europe! Surrounded impressive scenery and even more impressive European fencing teams, underdog Nicholas can't help but feel out of place. With the help of a local legend, though, he and the rest of the team finds it within themselves to face superior fencers, ex- boyfriends, expulsion, and even Nicholas's golden-boy, secret half-brother, the infamous Jesse Coste. Will Aiden and Harvard end up together, though? En garde! The second installment of this enticing original YA novel series by Sarah Rees Brennan, rich with casual diversity and queer self-discovery, explores never-before-seen drama inspired by C.S. Pacat's critically acclaimed Fence comic series. Text and Illustration copyright: © 2021 BOOM! Studios Fence(TM) and © 2021 C.S. Pacat Read more

  • "Slow burn"
There is slow burn, and then there is lighting a wet tree on fire with a half-burnt match. 10/10 will read again.

  • Felt a type of way
You know… I’m a little salty that this book was far more enjoyable than book one. I thought the writing was easier to digest and get through this time around. Still meh about certain characterizations but I’ll ignore it in favor of being happy that Aiden and Harvard actually end up together. Very please with that. Oh! And there was slightly more fencing in this book than the last, so there’s that as well. ... show more

  • Full of UST, was glued to the pages
Absolutely wonderful series, and I can not wait for the third book to come out. The plot is fun and I totally dig the emphasis on the romantic slow-build storylines.

  • Addicting
This series is so sweet. The boys are clueless, angsty and adorable. I’m team Nicholas because I love underdogs. 4.5 for hair.

  • I am in love with this author!
I honestly love anything this author writes, and this book has not disappointed so far! Great story, and it came in good condition. Glad I saved up to grow my bookshelf

  • The beginning was slow
The ending was the best part honestly. It was like reading a slow burn that paid off in the end. Highly recommend

  • An utter delight
It's angsty, its romantic, it's full of tropes. And you get to read about all your other faves from the series. What is not to love.

  • No thanks.
Characters shallowly unbelievable. Should be under Fantasy fiction. Other reviews seem coached.
