I have a Michael Graves vegetable peeler that has worked pretty well over the years, but wanted to try the Farberware one after using it at a house I stayed in. It is comfortable to use, and peeled pears, apples, carrots, and potatoes easily. The one minus is the part that sticks out at the end that is probably for digging out potato eyes, is too large. The one on my Michael Graves peeler is smaller and works well on potato eyes. Other than that, I think this peeler is worth purchasing because of its performance and price. ... show more

Vegetable peelers aren't a big factor in my life :-) But this one's nice. It has a good blade that is (so far) staying sharp despite contact with a good deal of vinegar (long story... ) and washes well. I use it to remove the skin of cucumbers and pickles (whole 'nother story as to WHY), and its sturdiness makes my task easier. It's a WHOLE lot better than the ordinary flimsy metal type that most folks use; it's worth a few extra bucks, and I'd definitely recommend it to others. ... show more
